There is no better way to get into golf season than watching The Masters; a time-honored tradition where the world’s best come together in Augusta, Georgia for an experience unlike any other. The Masters is one of four major championships on the PGA Tour, yet it’s the only one to be played at the same course each year. If it feels like you just watched the Masters not too long ago, that’s because the COVID-19 pandemic forced last year’s tournament to be played in November. The good news is that the fabled event is now back on its traditional April schedule and ready to kick-off the first major of the PGA season. This year’s Masters tournament is scheduled for April 8 to April 11 and will feature the best golfer’s from around the world.

From a betting perspective, the Masters is a great way to get in on the excitement of the game. Since this is one of the biggest events on the entire PGA calendar, Bovada sportsbook has tons of different betting odds available. You can bet on a player’s odds to win the 2021 Masters and follow the action throughout the tournament. If one of your picks wins this year’s tournament and receives the honorary Green Jacket, you’ll likely be in for a massive payday! To help you prepare for your upcoming Masters betting, we’ve put together a list of the top five favorites and top five underdogs, based on their current betting odds.

Masters Favorites

It only makes sense to begin this list of Masters betting favorites with Dustin Johnson. In addition to coming in to Augusta as this year’s defending champion, DJ also currently sits at number one in the Official World Golf Rankings. The last golfer to win back-to-back Masters was Tiger Woods in 2001-2002, but that could very well change by the time this year’s tournament is done. Johnson’s game is well suited for Augusta National, as his length off the tee and excellent short game gives him the chance to make a ton of birdies. DJ turned a lot of heads after winning last year’s Masters at a record 20-under par and there’s no reason to believe he can’t do it again. Betting on Dustin’s current odds to win the 2021 Masters seems like a logical bet and is sure to be one of the popular picks at this year’s tournament.

Everyone enjoys watching monster drives, and that includes the golf betting community. Bryson DeChambeau’s musclebound frame and aggressive style of play has made him one of the biggest draws in golf. Ranked number five in the world, the American golfer has yet to finish better than T21 in his four career appearances at the Masters but is enjoying an excellent run over the past couple of seasons. DeChambeau finished in the top five at two of last year’s majors, including a win at the US Open, and also won this year’s Arnold Palmer Invitational in early March. The course at Augusta National has gotten a lot longer over the years, and this plays right into the hands of a bomber like Bryson. Betting on DeChambeau is always a fun time and if he can manage to keep his ball in the fairway you just may win a nice PGA payout on this year’s Masters.

Justin Thomas is heading to Augusta with loads of confidence, having just recently won The Players Championship in mid-March. The world’s number two ranked golfer, Thomas is a fan favorite wherever he plays, which also explains why he’s such a popular betting option on the PGA Tour. This will be JT’s sixth appearance at the Masters; the 27-year-old golfer has managed to lower his total score and improve his tournament result every year, including last year’s fourth-place finish. So far he only has one major victory on his PGA resume and that came at the 2017 PGA Championship, but it’s clear that this is only the beginning for Thomas. With how hot he’s been playing as of late, JT is one of the clear favorites heading into the 2021 Masters.

The man they call “Rahmbo” enters this year’s Masters as the third ranked golfer in the world. Although Rahm has yet to win a major championship, the talented golfer does have five PGA Tour wins to his credit. Rahm has a good track record at Augusta over recent years, finishing in the top 10 in three of four career appearances. His best appearance came in 2018 when he finished in fourth place at 11 under par. With his incredible ball striking and fiery demeanor, it’s only a matter of time until the 26-year-old Spaniard breaks through at a major. Betting on a golfer like Rahm with a solid history at Augusta is a smart betting strategy and great way to target your picks for this year’s Masters.

Spieth may be just 27-years-old but this will be his eighth career appearance at Augusta and the young golfer has already developed quite a history at the famous course. Spieth burst on to the scene in 2014 with a T2 second finish at the Masters, and went on to win the Green Jacket the following season. In fact, Spieth managed to finish top three in four of his first five appearances at the tournament. The former world number one has struggled over recent seasons, finishing T21 and T46 over the last two years, but has finally begun to show signs of life with several strong performances as of late. If Spieth can get on a hot streak with his putter, the former champion is sure to be a tournament favorite worth betting.

Masters Underdogs

Labelling Collin Morikawa as an underdog may be a bit misleading; the American golfer is just 24 years of age but already has a major championship and World Golf Championship on his resume. Morikawa is enjoying a solid start to the 2021 season, including the aforementioned WGC victory at the Workday Championship in February. The Cal golf alumni is arguably the best young golfer on the planet right now and currently sits at number four in the Official World Golf Rankings. Morikawa doesn’t have much experience at Augusta, with his only professional appearance coming last year where he finished T44. With that being said, his game is on the ascent and the talented young golfer has a chance to win every tournament he enters. With such generous betting odds, you can see why Morikawa is one of the popular underdog picks to win the 2021 Masters.

As one of the more underrated golfers on the PGA Tour, Xander Schauffele is accustomed to flying under the radar. The American-born golfer has yet to earn a major victory but has four career wins and is usually found near the top of the leaderboard in the big tournaments. Schauffele is ranked sixth in the world and has already managed to finish in the top 10 of all four majors, including a T2 finish at Augusta in 2019. This will be Xander’s fifth trip to the Masters and you can be sure he’s looking to break through and claim the first major victory of his career. If you’re looking for a good value betting odds to win this year’s Green Jacket, look no further than Schauffele.

While the PGA Tour seems to get younger with each passing year, veteran golfers like Paul Casey show that experience can go a long way at a course like Augusta National. At 43-years-old, Casey has been playing professional golf for over 20 years but is still on the hunt for his first career major. This will be Casey’s 15th appearance at the Masters; the Englishman has finished in the Top-10 on four separate occasions, including a T4 finish in 2016. It’s worth noting that Casey shot a seven under 65 and held a share of the first round lead at last year’s Masters, before stumbling to a T38 finish. If Casey can put it all together during this year’s Master’s week, his current betting odds could provide some amazing value.

There aren’t many golfers on tour like Bubba Watson; with his pink driver and creative playing style, the 42-year-old American is one of the PGA Tour’s most interesting characters. Another thing that sets Bubba apart from the competition is the two Green Jacket sitting in his closet. With victories at Augusta in 2012 and 2014, Watson became one of just 17 golfers to win the Masters on multiple occasions. While that may seem like a long time ago, that type of experience at Augusta National is priceless. Watson has struggled in recent seasons, with his last victory coming in 2018, but there’s something to be said about his magical performances at Augusta over the years. With his current odds offering a massive payout, betting on Bubba to turn back the clock at this year’s Masters could be a smart move.

One of the more respected golfers on tour, Australian Adam Scott represents another intriguing betting option for the 2021 Masters. The Australian golfer is in the back-half of his professional career but still has plenty left in the tank. A former world number one, Scott’s Official World Golf Ranking has slipped down to 25 but he’s had some solid showings lately, including a top-10 finish at the Farmers Insurance Open. For those of you old enough to remember, Scott already has a Masters victory on his resume, winning the Green Jacket in 2013 and you can bet that he’s got space in his closet for one more. While this may be more of a longshot betting option, you’ll look like a genius and win some real big money if the Australian make history repeat itself once more.
