Game of Thrones Odds: Who Will Sit on the Iron Throne?
Who will be ruling Westeros at the end of the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones? That’s the key question heading into the season premiere of the HBO show this Sunday night.
And it’s a Stark family member that sits atop the Game of Thrones odds on who will rule Westeros, with Bran Stark set as the +220 favorite. That puts him just ahead of his adopted brother Jon Snow, who is at +350 on those Game of Thrones lines, with his sister Sansa Stark third on the list at +500. Arya Stark is well back of that trio at +1600 on those odds.
Daenarys Targaryen is at +700 on the who will sit on the Iron Throne odds, and she now has the support of Jon Snow and Winterfell as she prepares to battle the white walkers up north and then presumably Cersei Lannister and her forces in the south. The white walkers surging to a victory over Westeros could allow the Night King to pay out at +1000 on that betting prop, while Cersei Lannister biding her time and retaining the Iron Throne is worth odds of +2500.
Other notables on those Game of Thrones odds include Gendry at +700, and both Tyrion Lannister and Petyr Baelish at +1000. Baelish was killed by Arya Stark in Season 7, but on a show featuring magic, the resurrection of the dead, and face-changing abilities that doesn’t completely preclude him from ending up as the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms this season.
Baelish is one of many, many characters to have met a grisly fate over the first seven seasons of Game of Thrones, and the eighth season is expected to produce a high body count as well with war imminent in Westeros on several fronts. And according to the odds on Game of Thrones season 8, it’s the Greyjoys that are going to be in the most immediate peril.
Euron Greyjoy, an ally to Cersei Lannister and major show villain, is the +210 favorite to be the first character to perish in the eighth season, followed by Yara Greyjoy at +250, with Theon Greyjoy back at +750. Sansa Stark is also among the chalk at +350 odds, with Jaime Lannister at +1000, and Cersei Lannister at +1200 to round out the top of the betting board.
Cersei Lannister in the Spotlight on GOT Odds
Cersei Lannister rivals the Night King as the ultimate villain on Game of Thrones, and her death is widely expected to occur during the course of the eighth season. Props odds have Cersei Lannister perishing in the fifth or sixth episodes of the six-episode season as the -650 favorite, with episodes three or four at +450, and episodes one or two at +3300. Her surviving through the end of the show is set at +700 odds. Arya Stark and Jaime Lannister are the +150 co-favorites to kill Cersei Lannister, with Sansa Stark at +750 on those betting lines.
And Arya Stark is back in Westeros with revenge on her mind, and the OVER/UNDER for people killed by her in the eighth season is set at 3.5, with both sides paying out at -115 odds. Her enemies list still has several names left to scratch out, and Cersei Lannister is the +175 favorite to be her first kill this season, with Melisandre at +300, and The Hound set at +325.
