Titans are Home Favorites on TNF Betting Odds

Week 14 TNF Betting Odds at Bovada Sportsbook

The Tennessee Titans will be looking to inject themselves back into the AFC playoff picture when they host the sagging Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday as 4.5-point favorites on the NFL Thursday Night Football odds.

Tennessee preserved its slim playoff hopes with last weekend’s 26-22 win over the New York Jets, ending a two-game straight-up slide and improving its record to 6-6 going into Thursday night’s game at Nissan Stadium.

However, the Titans still have a mountain to climb to reclaim a playoff spot. Tennessee enters Week 14 with the same record as Miami, Indianapolis, and Denver, but trailing the trio on tiebreakers, and sits one game back of the Baltimore Ravens, who currently hold down the second wild card spot in the AFC.

While the Titans enjoy a favorable stretch run with their final four games coming against current non-playoff teams, they have tumbled to a distant +3000 wager to win the AFC South, and have tumbled to a lengthy +8000 on the Super Bowl odds.

The Titans have also emerged as a betting disappointment in recent weeks, failing to cover in each of their past three outings including last weekend’s win over the Jets as 10-point home favorites on the NFL betting odds. However, they have been solid performers on home turf, going 14-3 SU in their past 17 while posting ATS wins in 12 of those contests.

Unfortunately, that success does not extend to Tennessee’s recent appearances on Thursday Night Football. The Titans have dropped six of eight since 2008, however their two wins have come on home turf, including a 36-22 victory over Jacksonville two years ago in which they picked up the ATS win as 3-point chalk on the NFL TNF Odds.

Jaguars Underdogs on TNF Betting Odds

While the Titans enter the week angling for playoff positioning, the Jaguars will be searching for consecutive wins for the first time since Week 2.

Jacksonville opened the season amid high expectations after claiming the AFC South title last season on their way to their first appearance in the AFC Championship Game since 1999. However, the Jaguars’ season quickly came undone following a promising 3-1 start, with the squad embarking on a seven-game SU and ATS slide that ultimately cost quarterback Blake Bortles his job as the team’s starter.

The Jaguars rebounded last weekend with Cody Kessler under center, eking out a 6-0 win over the visiting Colts as 4-point home underdogs. But Jacksonville remains winless SU in their past four road dates. The squad has also struggled to generate offense at times, tallying 16 or fewer points in six of their 12 outings this season.

This week’s clash marks the Jaguars’ third straight Thursday Night Football matchup with Tennessee. Jacksonville has posted SU wins in two of those contests while covering as home favorites on the TNF betting odds. But the Jaguars have otherwise come up short in recent dates with the Titans, going 1-5 SU in their past six overall meetings, and covering just once during that stretch.
