Washington Leads Pac-12 Conference Title Odds

NCAAF Pac-12 Odds at Bovada Sportsbook

After falling one win short of a second straight berth in the Pac-12 championship game, the Washington Huskies open the new college football season set as even-money favorites to return to the top of the conference on the NCAA football Pac-12 odds.

Sporting a conference-leading defense that surrendered just 16.1 points per game over the course of the 2017 season, Washington finished deadlocked with Stanford atop the Pac-12 North standings with a 7-2 straight up record. But a 30-22 road loss to the Cardinal as 6.5-point road chalk in Week 10 denied the Huskies the chance to repeat as division champions.

However, the Huskies have emerged as one of the nation’s most consistent squads over the last two seasons, amassing an impressive 16-3 SU record in conference play during that stretch, and burying the memory of a 14-year run during which they failed to win more than five games in a season against conference opponents.

Despite their strong position on the Pac-12 Conference title odds, the Huskies face tempered expectations to build on last season’s win total, and are listed as a shaky +130 bet to win OVER 10.5 games overall in 2018. Washington can help its own cause with a strong performance in its season opener, when it takes on Auburn as a 3-point road underdog.

The Tigers marched to a 10-4 SU record and a share of first place in the SEC West division last season, but finished the campaign with a pair of defeats, capped by a 34-27 loss to UCF as massive 15-point favorites in the Peach Bowl, and own -110 odds of winning UNDER 9.0 games. Washington will also have an opportunity to pad its record in Week 2, when it takes on the North Dakota Fighting Hawks, who are coming off a dismal 3-8 season in FCS play.

USC, Stanford on Odds to Win Pac-12 Conference

Further down the odds to win Pac-12 conference championship this season, the USC Trojans sit at +400, ahead of Stanford at +550, while Oregon rounds out the top of the board at +750.

The Trojans rode a four-game SU win streak down the stretch to a first-place finish in the Pac-12 South standings last season, and then hung on for a 31-28 victory over Stanford as 3.5-point chalk in the Pac-12 championship game to earn their first conference title of the Pac-12 era.

A Week 2 rematch at Stanford could set the tone for the rest of the season for both squads. However, the Trojans have produced a middling track record in September contests in recent years, going 8-5 SU in 13 September contests since the start of the 2015 season, covering in just five of those outings.

Conversely, the Cardinal have dropped just one home game in September since 2007, but need to bounce back from a two-game SU slide that closed out last year’s schedule, while the Ducks are poised for a resurgence following consecutive losing seasons, and are perched as -145 chalk to win OVER 8.5 games.

Arizona leads the middle of the pack as a +1800 bet on the Pac-12 championship odds, followed by Utah at +2000, while UCLA lags at +3000, ahead of California at +6000, and Colorado at +8000.
