Warriors Dominate NBA Playoff and Championship Odds

Warriors Favorites on NBA Finals Odds - Bovada Sportsbook

The Golden State Warriors remained quiet at this month’s NBA trade deadline. But after posting straight-up wins in 16 of 18 outings ahead of the All-Star Break did the Warriors really need to troll us by getting involved in the Anthony Davis sweepstakes? Golden State is stacked regardless, and are firmly entrenched as –230 favorites in NBA championship odds.

The Warriors struggled at times early on this season after opening the campaign as -165 chalk on the NBA futures, highlighted by an inconsistent 5-8 SU run that started in early November. However, the club has steadily rounded back into championship form since early December, posting consecutive SU losses just once during the 26-7 SU run it will take into Thursday night’s matchup with the Sacramento Kings at Oracle Arena.

The defending champions have also returned to the top of the Western Conference during their recent resurgence, and sit two games up on second-place Denver as they return to action. But while the Warriors remain the darlings of the NBA playoff odds, they remain a shaky bet on the NBA lines, posting against the spread wins in just one of seven contests to join the woeful New York Knicks with a league-low 24 ATS wins this season.

The Warriors continue to be trailed on the futures NBA odds by a quartet of Eastern Conference contenders. After bulking up at the trade deadline, the Toronto Raptors remain pegged as +750 second favorites, ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics, who sit deadlocked at +950, and the Philadelphia 76ers at +1000

Bucks Rewarding Bettors on the NBA Odds

The Raptors entered the All-Star break on a six-game SU win streak, and an overall 17-5 SU run, but have been outpaced by a surprising Bucks squad that has moved past them into first place in the Eastern Conference standings during a spectacular 27-6 SU run. Milwaukee has emerged as a scoring machine during the current campaign, and sits second only to the Warriors with 116.9 points per game.

While the Bucks have regularly rewarded bettors on the NBA odds with a league-leading 34-20-3 ATS record, and sit as +175 favorites to win the Eastern Conference crown, they have yet to prove themselves in the NBA playoffs, where they have made first-round exits in eight straight trips to the postseason since 2001.

The Celtics face a stiff challenge as they return to action on Thursday with a visit to Milwaukee, where they have lost four straight. Boston also lags in the Eastern Conference standings, where they sit knotted with Philadelphia, 6.5 games back of the Bucks.

Philadelphia was busy at the trade deadline, including a multi-player deal with the Los Angeles Clippers that landed them veteran forward Tobias Harris. However, the Sixers are just 14-14 SU on the road this season, and with nine of their final 13 regular-season contests coming on the road must find consistency away from Wells Fargo Center if they are to enjoy home court advantage in the playoffs.

Further down the NBA championship odds, the Los Angeles Lakers have shown resilience, maintaining +1100 odds despite sitting three games out of a playoff spot. The Houston Rockets trail at +1400, followed by Oklahoma City at +1600, while the Nuggets round out the top of the odds at +2200.
