Barboza Underdog vs. Lee on UFC Fight Night 128 Odds

Barboza Underdog vs. Lee on UFC Fight Night 128 Odds - Bovada Sportsbook

Kevin Lee will be looking to overcome a loss to Tony Ferguson in a bid for the interim UFC lightweight championship in his last outing when he enters the octagon on Saturday for a main event clash with Edson Barboza as a -165 favorite on the UFC Fight Night 128 betting odds.

Lee saw his first shot at a UFC title halted by a third-round submission loss to Ferguson as a +220 bet, dropping his professional MMA record to 16-3 going into Saturday night’s matchup at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

In addition to denying him the interim UFC lightweight crown, Lee’s loss to Ferguson also brought a close to a five-fight win streak that featured a pair of first-round finishes. That included a submission of Michael Chiesa in a five-round clash at UFC Fight Night 112 that paid out on -150 odds and earned him his second Performance of the Night bonus in three fights.

Lee has taken his time developing his finishing touch since joining the UFC in 2014. The former TWC lightweight champion saw his first four UFC contests go the distance, with the judges giving him the nod on three occasions, but finished opponents inside the distance in five of his past six victories, and has never seen a fight go beyond three rounds.

Barboza will be aiming to rebound from a unanimous decision loss to reigning UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagmedov as a +290 underdog at UFC 219 in late December as he enters Saturday night’s clash as a +135 underdog on the Barboza vs. Lee fight odds.

Like Lee, Barboza has demonstrated the ability to finish opponents with six of his 13 UFC wins coming by knockout or TKO, including a spectacular third-round KO of Terry Etim as a -275 favorite that garnered him Knockout of the Year honors in 2012.

The Taekwondo black belt has gone the distance in six of eight outings, but owns a checkered 4-3 record over his past seven fights. While Barboza has regularly seen his recent battles settled by the judges, like Lee he has no experience in championship round action.

Santos, Edgar Also Favorites on Saturday Betting Lines

Earlier on Saturday evening, a pair of ranked middleweight challengers square off, with Thiago Santos perched as a -185 favorite on the UFC Fight Night 128 odds in his clash with David Branch, while the co-main event features a matchup of wily featherweight veterans as former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar battles Cub Swanson as -240 chalk.

Currently pegged as the No. 12 challenger among UFC middleweights, Santos rides a four-fight win streak, with each of those wins coming by TKO. No. 8 Branch trails as a +150 underdog after seeing an 11-fight win streak ended by a second-round submission loss to Luke Rockhold as a massive +400 underdog at UFC Fight Night 116.

Edgar remains the No. 3 featherweight challenger despite his recent first-round KO loss to Brian Ortega as a -160 wager at UFC 222, while No. 4 Swanson has entertained with three straight Fight of the Night performances, including a unanimous decision win over Doo Ho Choi as a +175 bet at UFC 206 that was later named 2016 Fight of the Year.
