Chiesa a Narrow Fight Night Dog vs. Lee

Chiesa a Narrow Fight Night Dog vs. Lee - Bovada Sportsbook

Michael Chiesa will end a 14-month hiatus on Sunday when he returns to the octagon to take on fellow lightweight Kevin Lee in the UFC Fight Night 112 main event as a narrow +110 underdog.

Chiesa last entered the octagon at UFC on Fox 19 in April 2016 when he earned Performance of the Night honors with a submission victory by standing rear-choke over Beneil Dariush to pay out as a +135 underdog. That lifted his professional MMA record to 14-2 going into Sunday night’s event at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Chiesa is unbeaten in three straight fights, a run that has helped to buoy his position as the No. 7 lightweight contender. Chiesa’s formidable submission skills have been on full display since he made his UFC debut with a first-round submission win over Al Iaquinta as a +210 underdog at The Ultimate Fighter 15 Finale.

The 29-year-old American used a rear-naked choke to earn the win in five of his seven UFC victories, and has seen just two of his past 13 professional fights go the distance.

With wins in each of his past four octagon appearances, Lee battles Chiesa on Sunday night as a -140 favorite on the UFC Fight Night Oklahoma City odds.

Lee claimed his seventh career submission victory three months ago at UFC Fight Night 106, finishing Francisco Trinaldo in the second round as a -175 favorite to improve his pro record to 15-2 and climb to No. 12 on the UFC lightweight rankings.

Lee has seen five of his past six fights finished inside the distance, including opening-round wins over Jake Matthews as a +145 underdog at The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale, and James Moontasri as -335 chalk at UFC Fight Night 71, ending a stretch of four fights decided by the judges.

Tight Odds on Kish vs. Herrig Matchup

In other UFC Fight Night 112 betting action, Justine Kish is a -105 underdog against fellow women’s strawweight Felice Herrig, who sports -125 odds, while former UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks is a -225 bet to stay undefeated as a middleweight when he takes on +175 underdog Tim Boetsch.

Kish owns a perfect 6-0 record, including four straight unanimous decision wins, but missed weight in her last outing, a three-round win over Ashley Yoder as -260 chalk at UFC Fight Night 102. Herrig has won three of four fights since joining the UFC in 2014, and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Alexa Grasso as a +300 underdog at UFC Fight Night 104.
