Mighty Mouse Massive UFC 215 Favorite - Bovada Sportsbook

UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will be gunning for a 13th straight victory in the octagon when he puts his title on the line in a main event clash with Ray Borg at UFC 215 on Saturday as a heavy -1000 favorite on the betting lines.

Mighty Mouse has dominated since claiming the inaugural UFC flyweight crown five years ago with a split-decision win over Joseph Benavidez as -145 chalk at UFC 152, finishing opponents in six of 10 title defenses ahead of Saturday night’s match at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

Johnson needed fewer than three rounds to end Wilson Reis’ night in his last outing at UFC on Fox 24, submitting the Brazilian southpaw to claim Performance of the Night honors while paying out on short -850 odds.

The 31-year-old also made short work of Henry Cejudo at UFC 197, handing the Olympic wrestling gold medallist a first-round TKO as a -350 bet. But Johnson is also a proven performer in fights going the distance, dominating Tim Elliott at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale as a heavy -900 favorite in his third unanimous decision victory since claiming the title.

Ranked as the No. 3 challenger in the UFC flyweight division, Borg is a +600 underdog in his first UFC title shot. The 24-year-old has seen five of seven UFC clashes go the distance, including a unanimous decision win over Jussier Formiga as -140 chalk at UFC Fight Night 106 in his last fight.

However, Borg has never seen action in championship rounds, and has twice come up short on the judges’ scorecards since joining the UFC, dropping a split decision to Dustin Ortiz as a +135 underdog in his promotional debut at UFC on Fox 11, and a unanimous decision loss to Justin Scoggins as a -225 bet at UFC Fight Night 82.

Nunes Underdog Against Shevchenko

The UFC women’s bantamweight crown will be on the line in the UFC 215 co-main event, as champion Amanda Nunes faces Valentina Shevchenko as a slender -120 underdog.

Nunes powered her way to the top of the division with four first-round victories in her past five fights, including a stunning knockout of former champion Ronda Rousey just 48 seconds into their UFC 207 clash to pay out as a +160 underdog.

Shevchenko looks to avenge her unanimous decision loss to Nunes in a UFC 196 battle pegged as a pick ’em, and is perched as a narrow -120 favorite for Saturday’s rematch.

In other UFC 215 betting action, Jeremy Stephens battles fellow featherweight Gilbert Melendez as slim -125 chalk, while Cejudo takes on Reis as a strong -365 favorite.
