Shevchenko Narrow UFC 213 Odds Favorite - Bovada Sportsbook

A long awaited rematch takes center stage in the main event at UFC 213 this weekend when Valentina Shevchenko faces UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes as a narrow -120 betting favorite.

Shevchenko is coming off impressive victories over Julianna Pena and Holly Holm, but goes into Saturday night’s fight in Las Vegas looking to avenge a unanimous decision loss to  Nunes in an epic clash at UFC 196 in a bout listed as a pick’em.

Sitting as the No. 1 women’s bantamweight contender on the UFC rankings, Shevchenko earned Performance of the Night honors with a second-round win by submission over Pena as -190 chalk at UFC on Fox 23, and outlasted Holm to earn a unanimous decision win as a +175 underdog in the main event at UFC on Fox 20.

Nunes has won five straight, including four victories inside the first round, but enters the second defense of her UFC women’s bantamweight crown as a -110 underdog. Nunes paid out as a handsome +160 underdog with a first-round knockout victory over former champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 207, and has earned 11 of her 14 career wins with first-round finishes.

Despite that record of efficiency, the odds of Saturday’s main event lasting more than one round are pegged at a short -425 on the UFC 213 props. However, Nunes is a strong +160 bet to pick up the win inside the distance, with the odds of the fight going the distance regardless of winner sitting at -250.

Whittaker Set to Battles Romero as Favorite

In Saturday night’s other championship clash the interim UFC middleweight title will be up for grabs as Robert Whittaker battles Yoel Romero as slender -125 chalk.

The 26-year-old New Zealander is undefeated in six fights as a UFC middleweight, and nine of 11 since joining the UFC in 2012, including a second-round TKO victory over Ronaldo Souza at UFC on Fox 24 as a +225 underdog in his last outing.

Romero has rocketed to No. 1 among UFC middleweight contenders by going undefeated in eight fights since joining the UFC, but trails as a -105 underdog against Whittaker. Romero has won three of four by knockout including a third-round win over Chris Weidman as a +175 underdog at UFC 205.

Also on Saturday, Curtis Blaydes is a -160 favorite on the props to win inside the distance as he takes on fellow heavyweight Daniel Omielanczuk, while Anthony Pettis searches for just his second win in six fights as he tangles with Jim Miller as -250 chalk in a clash of lightweights.
