UAB Leads Off Week on NCAA Bowl Betting Odds

Bet on NCAA Bowl Betting Odds at Bovada

The UAB Blazers will be looking for their first-ever bowl game victory on Tuesday when they take on the Northern Illinois Huskies at the Boca Raton Bowl as 3-point favorites on the NCAA bowl betting odds.

The Blazers put a timely end to a two-game straight-up losing streak in their last outing. UAB overcame an early 10-point deficit to earn a 27-25 win over Middle Tennessee in the Conference USA championship game, and takes a program-record 10-3 SU mark into Tuesday night’s game at FAU Stadium.

UAB’s victory over the Blue Raiders as a 1.5-point underdog also ended the team’s three-game slide against the spread. However, the Blazers are a shaky wager on the NCAAF betting odds when pegged as a favorite of fewer than four points, going 2-4 SU and ATS in their past six.

Despite their mixed results as narrow chalk, the Blazers remain one of the top defensive squads in the nation. UAB has held opponents to seven or fewer points on six occasions this season and just 17.3 points per game overall, but has allowed 23.75 points per game over its past four outings, fueling an uncharacteristic 4-1 run for the OVER in totals betting.

The Huskies make their 10th bowl season appearance in 11 years after mounting an impressive second-half comeback in a 30-29 win over Buffalo to capture their first Mid-American Conference title since 2015.

Like UAB, the Huskies posted SU losses in the final two regular-season games prior to their conference championship win. NIU has also been an uneven bet this season, going 7-6 ATS, but has risen to the occasion when pegged as a betting underdog, winning outright in its past three, and covering in four of five.

Ohio, Marshall, BYU Favored on NCAA Football Odds

Elsewhere in upcoming NCAAF bowl game betting action, the Ohio Bobcats look to extend their current SU win streak to three games when they battle the San Diego State Aztecs on Wednesday as 3-point chalk in this year’s Frisco Bowl.

The South Florida Bulls ride a five-game SU slide into Thursday’s date with the Marshall Thundering Herd as 3-point underdogs in the Gasparilla Bowl, while the Brigham Young Cougars return to bowl game action following a one-year absence perched as heavy 12-point favorites in Friday’s meeting with the Western Michigan Broncos in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

The Bobcats have averaged 50.5 points per game during their current two-game surge, capped by a 49-28 rout of the Akron Zips as 24-point chalk in their regular-season finale. Ohio has racked up big point totals with regularity this season, scoring 49 or more on six occasions, and has regularly rewarded bettors when favored by four or fewer points, going undefeated SU and ATS in its past five.

The Aztecs have dropped four of five SU and covered just once in seven outings, but have posted wins in four of five December contests, including outright wins in three of four as underdogs on the NCAA football odds.

The Thundering Herd have posted six straight bowl game victories, and are unbeaten in three straight against opponents from the AAC, while the Broncos aim to cover in consecutive outings for the first time since Week 4 of the regular season.
