Thunder, Warriors Highlight Wednesday NBA Betting Lines

The Oklahoma City Thunder will be aiming to maintain the torrid pace that has lifted them to the top of the Western Conference when they visit the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday as 2-point favorites on the NBA betting odds.

Oklahoma City returns to the road after claiming a 122-113 victory over the visiting Utah Jazz on Monday to climb into a virtual dead heat with the Golden State Warriors in the conference standings going into Wednesday night’s game at Smoothie King Center.

The Thunder have emerged as a force in basketball betting since putting the brakes on a season-opening four-game straight-up losing streak. Oklahoma City has taken home the victory in 17 of 21 contests since, including a 7-3 SU record in its past 10 away dates, but has gone 5-5 against the spread in its past 10, and has covered in just three of seven road contests.

The Thunder have also surrendered 113 points per game over their past three outings, far exceeding their season average of 104.7 points per game, producing a 3-0 run for the OVER in totals betting. But Oklahoma City holds the edge in recent dates with the Pelicans, averaging 115.5 points in consecutive wins that lifted the Thunder to 9-4 SU over their past 13 head-to-head matchups.

The Pelicans return home after being outclassed in a 113-100 loss in Boston as 2.5-point underdogs on Monday. With the loss, New Orleans dropped to 4-8 SU over its past 12, leaving it two games back of Dallas for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Not surprisingly, the Pelicans are also a distant +2800 bet on the NBA futures, well back of the Thunder at +1200 on those NBA odds. However, New Orleans has been a tough opponent on home court at times this season, winning eight of nine SU prior to the team’s current uneven 2-3 SU run.

Warriors Back in Form as Raptors Visit Oracle Arena

Elsewhere on Wednesday’s NBA odds, the Warriors look to extend their current SU win streak to five games when they take on the visiting Toronto Raptors. Golden State has returned to steady form since enduring a shaky 2-6 SU run in mid-November, winning seven of nine including four straight contests at Oracle Arena.

The Warriors’ latest win came on Monday against the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves, whom they topped by a 116-108 score. However, Golden State failed to cover as 9.5-point home favorites, ending a three-game ATS surge and dropping them to 6-11 ATS in their past 17.

Golden State remains perched atop the NBA championship odds, but finds itself pursued by the Raptors, who have climbed to short +195 favorites to claim their first Eastern Conference crown and sit second only to Golden State at a vastly improved +750 in NBA championship betting.

Toronto has built its rapid climb on the odds board on the best season start in franchise history. However, the team has struggled in recent trips to the Bay Area, losing SU in 13 straight games since 2004 while covering the posted spread in just two of those contests.
