Spurs Big Underdogs at Warriors on NBA Odds

The San Antonio Spurs won and covered the spread as home NBA betting favorites in their last meeting with the Golden State Warriors back in November, but they’ll be facing heavy underdog odds against a healthier team when they match up once again Wednesday night.

The Spurs are heavy 11-point road underdogs on the NBA odds for this clash in Oakland, and they are expected to be playing without both of their star players as LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan are scheduled to be rested for the game.

San Antonio was listed as a 3-point home favorite when it hosted Golden State in their first meeting of the season on November 18, with the Warriors playing without each of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and DeMarcus Cousins that day. Golden State got 26 points from Kevin Durant and 25 points from Klay Thompson in that 104-92 road defeat at the Spurs.

Aldridge scored a team-high 24 points for the Spurs in that victory, with DeRozan adding 20 points. The outcome marked the third straight against-the-spread win for the Spurs over the Warriors dating back to last year’s playoffs, and the third straight UNDER result on the totals between the two teams on the basketball betting lines.

Overall, though, the Warriors are 7-3 straight up and 5-5 ATS in their last 10 games against the Spurs dating back to late 2017, with the UNDER paying out seven times in those outings. Golden State is also 9-1 SU and 6-4 ATS in its last 10 games at home against San Antonio.

Spurs Coming off Loss as NBA Odds Favorite

San Antonio is coming off a 127-112 upset loss against the Sacramento Kings as 2-point road favorites on the NBA odds on Monday night. DeRozan scored 24 points and Aldridge added 22 points for the Spurs in the losing cause, with the game turning into the team’s sixth OVER result on the totals in their last seven outings. It was also San Antonio’s fourth straight loss ATS, as they failed to cover the spread in their previous three games – all of them wins.

Golden State got past the Los Angeles Lakers 115-101 while failing to cover the spread as a 15-point home betting favorite in its last game on Saturday, as Thompson scored a team-high 28 points and Durant kicked in 21 points. Cousins picked up 18 points and 10 rebounds.

That was a bounceback effort for the Warriors, who had fallen 113-104 as 8-point home favorites to the Philadelphia 76ers last Thursday night. Overall Golden State is 12-1 SU in its last 13 games dating back to January 5, going 7-5-1 ATS for its supporters over that span.

The Warriors continue to battle the Denver Nuggets for the top overall seed in the NBA’s Western Conference standings, but they’re still the clear betting favorites at -325 on the odds to win the West this season and -215 chalk on the NBA championship odds. San Antonio is set at +4000 on the Western Conference odds and +7000 to win the NBA title this season.
