Perhaps it’s the whole “team of destiny” thing, or maybe it was their domination of the Patriots in New England that was so impressive. Maybe it’s just too scary to bet against Ray Lewis. (You know, in case he was to find out.)
Whatever the reason, the one thing we know for sure is the majority of early Super Bowl action at Bovada has been on the Baltimore Ravens (+4) versus the San Francisco 49ers.
Not surprisingly, the support for the Ravens has been especially strong when it comes to the moneyline (+145). After all, if you’re a Baltimore fan, do you just want them to lose by fewer than 4... Read More

On one team, a rookie quarterback.
On the other, one of the greatest linebackers of all time playing in his last game.
On both, a head coach with the last name Harbaugh.
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII from New Orleans. At Bovada, we’ve got the 49ers by four points, with most of the early money coming on Baltimore.
Before we get to all that though – after all, the big game isn’t until next Sunday – let’s take some time to reflect on what led up to the final showdown of the 2012-13 NFL season.

“You have to get a little lucky” is how Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco put it. Anyone who bet on the Ravens to upset the Broncos Saturday in Denver would have to agree with the assessment.
Flacco was, of course, referring to his 70-yard TD pass to Jacoby Jones that tied the game at 35-35 with 31 seconds remaining, allowing the 10-point underdog Ravens to win 38-35 in double overtime.
Realistically, there’s no way that play should have happened. To call the coverage by Denver safety Rahim Moore atrocious would be to besmirch the word atrocious.
However games like Denver-Baltimore – which... Read More

First, a few trends:
The red-hot Seattle Seahawks are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games. They’re on a 7-0 ATS run against teams with a winning record. Oh, and they’re not just good at home either; they’re 5-2 ATS in their last seven on the road.
Not surprisingly, bettors have become rather enamored with this team from the Pacific Northwest that wasn’t supposed to be among the final eight teams with a chance to win the Super Bowl.
On Sunday, Seattle was a three-point favorite on the road against a Redskins side that entered the playoffs on a seven-game winning streak. Bettors... Read More

Hey, remember when everyone was wondering if Peyton Manning still had it? Well, it turns out he does.
Yep, the hottest team in the NFL chalked up another win Sunday, strutting into Baltimore and beating a pretty good Ravens side, 34-17.
For the Broncos, it was their ninth-straight victory and one that will likely lead to a first-round bye in the playoffs.
For the majority of Bovada bettors, it was a profitable result, as almost three quarters of the wagers we booked on the point spread were on Denver (-3).
Given that Baltimore hadn’t lost consecutive home games since 2007, all that Denver... Read More
