Saints NFL Betting Favorites vs. Rams on Sunday

Bet on the Rams as they host Chicago on SNF

The New Orleans Saints will be looking to extend their current home win streak over the Rams to four games when they host Los Angeles on Sunday in this year’s NFC Championship Game as 3.5-point favorites on the NFL conference championship odds.

New Orleans advanced to its first NFC Championship Game since 2010 by eking out a narrow 20-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles over the weekend, earning the team its seventh straight-up win in eight home dates ahead of Sunday afternoon’s matchup at Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

While the Saints have been dominant on home turf, losing just three times in 18 overall contests since the start of the 2017 NFL campaign, they have struggled at times in recent home dates. The Saints’ high-powered offense has averaged just 17 points per game over its past two home contests, and the squad has failed to cover in each of its past three, contributing to a worrisome 1-5 against the spread run on the NFL betting odds over its past six overall.

The Saints have also struggled to reward bettors in recent playoff games at the Superdome despite winning outright in seven straight. New Orleans failed to cover as 8.5-point home chalk on the NFL odds in last weekend’s victory over the Eagles to fall to a dismal 3-7 ATS in 10 postseason contests since 1988.

New Orleans has persisted as a playoff football betting disappointment at home despite averaging over 32.8 points per game during its 7-0 SU run. The Saints’ high-scoring ways have produced consistent results in totals betting, with the OVER going 9-1 over their past 10.

However, with the total pegged at a loft 57.0 on the conference championship betting odds for Sunday’s contest, a high-scoring effort will likely be needed from the top-seeded Saints, who have seen total points top 57 just once in their past eight contests. Despite those betting concerns, New Orleans continues to lead the way on the Super Bowl odds, pegged as a short +175 favorite to claim its first title since 2010.

Rams Road Underdogs on the Sunday NFL Odds

Point production has not been an issue for the Rams, who will be making their first appearance in the NFC Championship Game since 2002 after dominating the Dallas Cowboys in a 30-22 victory on Saturday night.

With the win as 7-point home favorites on the NFL betting lines, the Rams are now unbeaten SU in three straight and a +350 wager on the Super Bowl odds.

Los Angeles has also recovered from the power outage that plagued the squad during a late-season two-game SU slide. The Rams have averaged over 36 points per game in three straight SU and ATS victories, and have scored 30 or more on six occasions while compiling a 6-2 SU record on the road this season.

The Rams have also averaged over 27 points per game in three meetings with the Saints since the franchise returned to Los Angeles. But the Rams have surrendered a hefty 41.6 points per game over their three recent losses in New Orleans, including a 45-35 defeat as 2-point chalk in Week 9, and have just one victory in four playoff road games since 1990.
