Rams Favored on Sunday Night NFL Betting Odds

Sunday Night NFL Betting Odds at Bovada

After locking up the NFC West title last weekend, the Los Angeles Rams will be looking to clinch a first-round bye when they travel to Chicago to face the Bears on Sunday Night Football as 3-point favorites on the Week 14 NFL betting odds.

Los Angeles punched its ticket to the postseason in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2004 with a 30-16 win in Detroit, and takes an NFL-best 11-1 straight-up record into Sunday night’s game at Soldier Field.

Last weekend’s rout of the Lions as 10-point chalk marked the 10th time this season that the Rams have scored at least 30 points. It was also the team’s third straight road contest in which they hit 30 points, leaving Los Angeles trailing only the Kansas City Chiefs with 32.2 points per game on the road this season.

The Rams have been a force on the road since the beginning of the 2017 NFL season, going 12-2 SU in 14 contests on the NFL betting odds. But the team has struggled to reward bettors when playing away from Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, producing a middling 8-6 record against the spread and covering in just three of its past seven.

The team has also fared poorly when pegged as a narrow road favorite, losing outright in five of eight when favored by four or fewer points and covering just twice during that stretch, including a 45-35 loss in New Orleans as 2-point chalk in Week 9 of this season.

The Rams have also enjoyed little recent success against Chicago, posting just one victory in six dates with the Bears, scoring just 15 total points while falling to defeat in their past two visits to Soldier Field. But despite their recent betting disappointments, the Rams continue to shine on the Super Bowl futures, where they have moved past the Saints to lead the way as +300 favorites on those NFL betting odds.

Bears Underdogs on Week 14 NFL Betting Odds

The Bears enter Sunday’s contest feeling some pressure after seeing a five-game SU and ATS win streak end with last weekend’s stunning 30-27 loss to the New York Giants as 3.5-point road favorites.

Chicago climbed to the top of the NFC North standings during its recent tear, but with an 8-4 record, the team has plenty of work to do before celebrating its first trip to the NFL playoffs since 2010. The Bears sit just 1.5 games up on the second-place Minnesota Vikings, who will be aiming to close the gap on Chicago when they travel to Seattle for a Monday Night Football clash with the Seahawks as 3.5-point underdogs in NFL Week 14 betting.

But despite last week’s setback, the Bears remain in full control of their playoff destiny, and with good reason. The Chicago defense has emerged as one of the NFL’s best this season, limiting opponents to just 20.1 points per game overall, and just 19.5 points per game while racking up a 5-1 record on home turf.

The Bears offense has also hit its stride, averaging 31.2 points per game over their past nine outings, and should get an additional lift following reports this week suggesting starting quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is set to return to action on Sunday after missing two games with a shoulder injury.
