Panthers Purchase Props Hit the Board

Panthers Purchase Props Hit the Board - Bovada Sportsbook

Shortly after Jerry Richardson announced he would sell the Carolina Panthers at the end of the 2017 season, hip-hop mogul and business entrepreneur P. Diddy hopped on social media to make it clear: he would like to be the buyer.

If you believe Diddy will own at least a share of the Panthers by the first game of the 2018 regular season, +300 odds are on the board. If you think the Panthers’ new ownership group doesn’t include Diddy, those futures are set at -500.

Forbes reported earlier this year that Diddy’s net worth rose to $820 million. After founding Bad Boy Records and spending his early days as a hip hop artist and producer, Sean Combs later started the Sean John clothing line and invested a 50% stake in Ciroc premium vodka, which combined could push his net worth over $1 billion come 2018.

However, Forbes values the Carolina Panthers franchise at $2.3 billion and recent team sales have been purchased overvaluation. So, if Diddy wanted to buy, he’d need some friends interested in a minority stake in the team.

After Diddy, Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry tossed his hat in the ring. Curry, who just inked a five-year, $200 million-plus deal with the Warriors, is making $34.6 million dollars this season and will have accrued $252.2 million by the end of his contract. Plus, he’s hauling in tens of millions of dollars in endorsement deals off the court, most notably Under Armour who makes his signature shoe.

Curry picking up an ownership share of the Panthers by Week 1 of the 2018 season pays out at +700 odds, while Curry remaining on the sidelines is set at -1600.

Kaepernick Longshot on Panthers Props

Colin Kaepernick “only” made $43 million during his six seasons in the NFL; a career that controversially ceased to exist this past season despite teams in need of quarterback depth. Regardless, like Curry, CK7 announced on social media he was serious about wanting to have a slice within Diddy’s proposed ownership group.

In what would be a dramatic turn of events should he become a minority stakeholder in the Panthers, Kaepernick’s odds of owning a share of the Panthers by Week 1 of next year pay +1000, while bettors who believe he won’t own any shares are looking at -5000 futures.
