Titans, Chargers Favored on Saturday NFL Betting Odds

A pair of games with playoff implications dominate the Saturday NFL schedule in Week 16, starting with the Tennessee Titans, who likely need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive when they host the Washington Redskins as 10-point favorites on the NFL betting odds.

Tennessee is coming off a character 17-0 win in New York last weekend, extending its current straight-up win streak to three games going into Saturday afternoon’s matchup at Nissan Stadium.

The Titans have played smothering defense during the win streak that has lifted their SU record to 8-6. Tennessee’s surge has put the team into a virtual three-way tie for the second AFC wild card with Baltimore and Indianapolis, but it is still pegged as a short -150 wager to miss the playoffs for the ninth time in 10 years.

Tennessee has surrendered just 10.3 points per game during its current tear, and has also tallied three straight victories on home turf. The Titans have struggled in recent dates with the Redskins, scoring 17 or fewer points on three occasions while dropping three of four to Washington.

However, the Redskins have faced obstacles of their own in their bid to end a two-year playoff drought since losing quarterback Alex Smith to a gruesome season-ending leg injury.

Washington is coming off a narrow 16-13 win in Jacksonville as 7.5-point underdogs, but has averaged just 17.8 points per game during a 1-4 SU run that leaves them trailing Minnesota by a half-game in the NFC wild card race. They sit as a +450 longshot to make the playoffs in NFL football betting.

Ravens Road Underdogs at Chargers on NFL Betting Odds

Currently edging out the Titans and Colts in the AFC wild card race by virtue of tiebreakers, the Ravens can help their own cause with a win on Saturday night when they visit the red-hot Los Angeles Chargers as 4.5-point underdogs in NFL betting.

Baltimore has won four of five since ending a three-game midseason swoon, capped by a 20-12 win over Tampa Bay as 8.5-point home chalk on the NFL odds last weekend, and also owns a 5-1-1 ATS record in its past seven as a betting underdog.

But the Ravens have been wildly inconsistent on the road, alternating between SU wins and losses in their past 10, and have lost seven straight while pegged as road underdogs by four or more points.

The Ravens also face arguably the toughest stretch run schedule of any AFC wild card team. Baltimore closes out the campaign next week with a home date against the revitalized Cleveland Browns, and sports lengthy +155 odds of making it to the postseason.

The Chargers locked up a playoff berth with last weekend’s narrow 29-28 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, and now have their sights set on first place in the AFC West and home-field advantage throughout the conference playoffs.

Los Angeles has posted wins in five of six home games during a 10-1 SU run that has lifted it to a +750 wager on the Super Bowl odds. But despite being deadlocked with the Chiefs atop the AFC West standings with an 11-3 record, the Chargers trail on tiebreakers and are pegged as +180 underdogs on the NFL odds to claim their first divisional title since 2009.
