Wake Forest Among Underdogs on Saturday Bowl Slate

Bet on NCAA Bowl Betting Odds at Bovada Sportsbook

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will be looking to post consecutive outright wins for the first time since Week 2 when they take on the Memphis Tigers on Saturday in this year’s Birmingham Bowl as 3.5-point underdogs on the NCAA bowl betting odds.

Wake Forest romped to a 59-7 victory over the Duke Blue Devils in its final outing of the regular season, marking the squad’s third straight victory away from home field going into Saturday afternoon’s bowl matchup in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Demon Deacons continued their recent high-scoring ways in their victory over Duke as 9.5-point underdogs. The team’s 59 points marked their second highest single-game point production in program history, and the third time this season that Wake Forest has scored at least 56 points.

Those big point totals have done little to help the Demon Deacons pay out regularly on the NCAA football odds, where they have gone just 4-8 against the spread this season. However, Wake Forest has proven to be a better bet during bowl season, going 4-1 SU and ATS in their past five appearances, capped by a narrow 55-52 win over Texas A&M in last year’s Belk Bowl.

The Tigers will hit the gridiron in Birmingham as favorites on the NCAAF bowl betting odds after closing out their regular-season schedule on a 4-1 SU and ATS run, capped by a disappointing 56-41 loss to UCF as 1-point road underdogs.

Memphis also piled up the points during its stretch run, averaging 45.6 points per game over their past five outings, and has scored 52 or more points on six occasions this season. That has fueled a 5-1 run for the OVER, and has buoyed the total for Saturday’s contest, which¬† sits at 73.0.

However, the Tigers have been a major bowl season disappointment in recent years, losing SU and ATS in each of their past three, and going 2-6 SU and ATS in eight bowl game appearances since 2003.

Army, Buffalo, Hawaii Favorites on NCAA Bowl Betting Odds

Elsewhere on this weekend’s NCAAF betting odds, the Army Black Knights aim to extend their impressive SU win streak to nine games as they battle the Houston Cougars as 5-point chalk in Saturday afternoon’s Armed Forces Bowl.

The Buffalo Bulls try to reach 11 wins for the first time in the 114-year history of the program as they clash with the Troy Trojans in the Dollar General Bowl as 2-point favorites, while the Hawaii Warriors look to capitalize on home-field advantage as they take on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in the Hawaii Bowl as slim 1-point favorites.

The Black Knights continued their stellar defensive play with a 17-10 victory as 7.5-point chalk in this year’s Army/Navy Game, and have now limited opponents to just 14.9 points per game during their current 8-0 SU run.

Conversely, the Cougars have stumbled since ending a midseason five-game SU surge, dropping three of four SU and ATS while allowing 43.25 points per game, and are also winless in their past two bowl game appearances.

The OVER has paid out regularly when Buffalo plays, going 9-3 in the team’s past 12, while the Trojans aim to build on a 3-0 SU run in bowl season.
