Clemson, Alabama Atop NCAA Bowl Betting Odds

Bet on NCAA Bowl Betting Odds at Bovada

The semifinals of the College Football Playoff will take place in Arlington and Miami Gardens on Saturday, with the Clemson Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide set as the clear betting favorites on the NCAA bowl betting odds for the marquee matchups.

In the early game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas it’s the Tigers listed as 12.5-point betting favorites on the NCAAF betting odds against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Cotton Bowl, with both schools coming off undefeated campaigns. Clemson went 13-0 straight up and 7-6 against the spread, while Notre Dame was 12-0 SU and 6-5-1 ATS.

The Tigers are coming off a 42-10 thrashing of the Pittsburgh Panthers in the ACC Championship Game on December 1, easily covering the large 28-point spread in a contest that went UNDER the posted total of 53 points. That was Clemson’s first cover in three games, although they did pick up five straight ATS wins from October 6 to November 10.

Tigers quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw for just 118 yards against the Panthers, but had a pair of touchdown strikes in the win. Travis Etienne rushed for 156 yards and two scores.

The Fighting Irish, with no conference championship game, wrapped up their season on November 24 with a 24-17 victory over the USC Trojans in which they failed to cover as 14-point betting favorites on the NCAA football odds. Notre Dame had been 2-0-1 ATS in their previous three outings, with the UNDER paying out in their final two games of the season.

Notre Dame has gone 4-1 ATS in its last five games against schools from the ACC, while Clemson has managed to cover the spread in six of its last eight games as double-digit chalk. Kickoff for the game is set for 4pm ET, with the Tigers entering the matchup at +280 on the odds to win the national championship and the Irish set at +1100 on those futures.

Tide Favored vs. Sooners on NCAA Football Odds

The Crimson Tide will then face the Sooners in an 8pm ET kickoff at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida in the Orange Bowl with Alabama a 14-point betting favorite on the NCAAF playoff odds. Alabama was unbeaten at 13-0 SU and 8-5 ATS on the season, while Oklahoma went 12-1 SU and a money-losing 5-7-1 ATS through its 13 contests.

Alabama squeezed past the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship Game on December 1, winning 35-28 and failing to cover as 12-point chalk in a game that exceeded its 62-point total and paid out for OVER bettors. Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered an ankle injury in the team’s win over the Bulldogs, but is expected to play in Saturday’s game. Backup Jalen Hurts went 7-of-9 for 82 yards with a touchdown throw in relief against Georgia.

Oklahoma is coming off a 39-27 victory over the Texas Longhorns as 9.5-point betting favorites in the Big 12 Championship Game on December 1, producing the first UNDER result for the team since September 22. The OVER went 10-2-1 in 13 Sooners games this season. Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray threw for 379 yards with three touchdowns in the team’s win over Texas, while CeeDee Lamb caught six passes for 167 yards and a touchdown.

The Sooners have paid off on the betting lines in four of their last five games against schools from the SEC, but Alabama overall is 5-2 ATS in its last seven games heading into Saturday. The Crimson Tide are -200 chalk on the national title odds, with the Sooners listed at +1100.
