Warriors Favorites on NBA Conference Finals Odds

Warriors Favorites on NBA Finals Odds - Bovada Sportsbook

The Golden State Warriors will be looking to overcome their current road swoon when they visit the Houston Rockets on Monday for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals as 1.5-point underdogs on the NBA playoff odds.

The Warriors are coming off a 113-104 win over New Orleans as 12-point home chalk on Tuesday to close out their second-round series with the Pelicans in five games, However, Golden State has struggled on the road, recording consecutive straight-up wins just once during a 6-7 run ahead of Monday night’s game at Toyota Center.

The defending NBA champions have also been betting disappointments, going 2-5 against the spread in their past seven overall, extending a worrisome trend that has seen them go 13-22 ATS in 35 contests since February 14.

However, the Warriors’ shaky performances, both on the road and at the sportsbook, have failed to dampen their position on the NBA playoff series prices, where they sit at a solid -225 going into Game 1, and as -135 favorites on the 2018 NBA championships odds.

In addition, Golden State must face a Rockets team that has continued the strong play that lifted it to the top of the NBA standings during the regular season with a franchise-record 65 wins. The Rockets are also 8-2 SU during this year’s playoffs, and 25-2 SU on home court in 27 contests since January 10.

Like the Warriors, Houston has failed to consistently reward bettors with a 7-10 ATS mark in its past 17 games overall, but has regained its touch in the postseason by covering in six of its past nine. But those trends do not extend to matchups with the Warriors in recent years.

While the Rockets took two of three from Golden State this season, they have otherwise been dismal performers against the defending champions, going a meagre 5-20 SU and 8-16-1 ATS in their past 25 meetings, and 4-10 SU and ATS in their past 14 home dates with the Warriors, including a 1-5 SU record in six clashes as home favorites.

Not surprisingly, those trends have contributed to Houston’s position as a +185 underdog on the NBA series prices, and has done little to help the Rockets close the gap on the NBA title betting odds, where they lag behind the Warriors at +220.

Cavaliers Seeking Bounceback in a Pick’em Game 2

As the Rockets and Warriors prepare to open their Western Conference Finals matchup on Monday, the Cleveland Cavaliers will be searching for answers after suffering a stunning 108-83 loss to the Boston Celtics as 1-point road favorites in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday.

The Cavaliers looked to be in championship form after crushing the Toronto Raptors in four games in the second round, capped by a devastating 128-93 victory as 5-point home favorites to close out the series, and entered their tilt with Boston as -270 favorites to advance to the NBA Finals for a fourth straight year.

With Sunday’s win the Celtics claimed their fourth outright win as underdogs in their past six outings overall, but have yet to convince oddsmakers, who have listed Tuesday night’s Game 2 matchup at 1 point on the NBA conference finals odds.
