Money Favored on Mayweather vs Nasukawa Betting Odds

Bet on Mayweather vs Nasukawa Odds at Bovada Sportsbook

Undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be venturing into uncharted territory when he takes on Japanese kickboxing superstar Tenshin Nasukawa in a New Year’s Eve clash as a solid¬† -260 betting favorite on the Mayweather vs Nasukawa odds.

The 41-year-old Mayweather has been proclaimed by many as the greatest defensive boxer in the history of the sweet science while racking up an unblemished 50-0-0 record in his career, but it remains to be seen what rules will apply in the Mayweather vs Nasukawa matchup on Monday, December 31 at the Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

The twice-retired Mayweather made a comeback in the summer of 2017 to face two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor in the squared circle. Mayweather proved to be too much for McGregor in that matchup, defeating the Irish MMA star as a -350 betting favorite.

However, it remains unclear how “Money” will perform against a kickboxing star who is half his age. Aside from his clash with Big Show at WrestleMania XXIV a decade ago, Mayweather has never ventured outside of the boxing ring, and it has yet to be determined whether his clash with Nasukawa will be boxing, kickboxing, or a hybrid of the two sports.

The length of the planned fight between Mayweather and Nasukawa also remains to be determined. A master at wearing down his opponents, Mayweather has seen just one of his fights go less than six rounds since 1999, a fourth-round knockout of Victor Ortiz as a -500 betting favorite in 2011, and he would likely be at a distinct disadvantage in a shorter contest.

Nasukawa is the Underdog on Betting Lines for Bout

Despite the inherent challenges Mayweather faces in taking on a kickboxer, Nasukawa sits well back as a lengthy +200 underdog on the Mayweather vs Nasukawa betting odds.

The 20-year-old Nasukawa has emerged as a kickboxing sensation since storming on to the scene just four years ago, as he has compiled a 27-0-0 professional kickboxing record along with a 4-0 professional mixed martial arts record.

A southpaw who holds two black belts in karate, Ninja Boy has regularly finished opponents, as he has claimed 20 knockout victories in kickboxing competition while picking up three of his four MMA victories inside of two rounds.

Like Mayweather, Nasukawa has also held multiple championships in his career, and is currently perched as the Rizin bantamweight champion after defeating Kyoji Horiguchi with a unanimous decision win at the RIZIN 13 event back in September.

Nasukawa also owns previous experience facing professional boxers. The native of Japan’s Chiba Prefecture claimed a fourth-round knockout victory over former IBF Flyweight champion Amnat Ruenroeng in a kickboxing bout back in February 2017.

Ninja Boy has also claimed four other championships during his brief professional career, including both the ISKA Oriental Rule Bantamweight championship and the Rizin bantamweight title.
