Mayweather / McGregor Final Odds Outlook

Mayweather / McGregor Final Odds Outlook - Bovada Sportsbook

Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be looking to expand his resume with the 50th win of his professional boxing career when he takes on UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor on Saturday as an improved -450 favorite on the boxing odds.

The former five-division world champion takes a perfect 49-0 professional boxing record into Saturday night’s fight at T-Mobile Arena, where the winner will take home a diamond- and sapphire-encrusted “Money Belt” created by the WBC specifically for this event.

There has been some movement on the fight odds this week, with McGregor also dipping to a +325 underdog. But with dozens of prop betting options coming available in recent days, Saturday’s clash has taken on a Super Bowl feel for sports bettors, who have quickly embraced the chance to wager on all aspects of the biggest fight in combat sports history.

At Wednesday’s press conference, McGregor continued to insist that he will end Mayweather’s night inside the decision, following up on his previous comments to win inside four rounds.

Oddsmakers have responded to McGregor’s prediction with the Conor McGregor “Inside Four Rounds” Special, with the Irishman pegged as a +500 bet to claim victory between rounds one and four, and a short -1000 to produce any other result. McGregor maintains +400 odds of defeating Mayweather by knockout, with a TKO win by “The Notorious” paying out at +800.

McGregor also has three wins inside 60 seconds to his credit, including a record-shattering knockout of Jose Aldo just 13 seconds into their UFC featherweight championship fight at UFC 194. That experience has not helped lift his odds of victory inside 60 seconds on Saturday, which trail at +2500.

McGregor Odds Decline as Fight Advances

Indeed, the longer the fight goes, the more McGregor suffers in props betting. The Notorious is a +1400 bet to knock down Mayweather in the opening round, but those odds tumble to +5000 in rounds nine through 12. Conversely, Mayweather owns +750 odds of tallying a first-round knockdown, with those odds shortening to +500 in rounds five, six, and seven.

Plenty of prop betting options also exist that tie Saturday night’s fight stats to the results of other sporting events taking place this weekend.

McGregor is a -125 bet to land a total number of punches greater than the total number of points scored in the first quarter of Saturday afternoon’s Oregon State vs. Colorado State college football game.

In addition, New York Yankees pitcher Sonny Gray is a +160 longshot to throw a total number of strikes in Saturday’s matchup with the Seattle Mariners that exceeds the number of completed rounds in Saturday’s fight.
