Kane, Salah Lead EPL Top Goalscorer Odds

After powering England to a semi-final berth at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and earning Golden Boot honors by leading all goalscorers with six markers in the tournament, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane returns to action perched as the +330 favorite on the odds to lead Premier League in goals this season.

The 25-year-old breathed new life into the Three Lions on the international stage, continuing the dominant offensive play that has netted him 59 goals in 67 league matches over the past two Premier League campaigns.

Kane was held off the scoresheet in the Spurs’ season-opener, a narrow 2-1 victory over Newcastle United, but he will be looking to extend a solid stretch on home turf, where he has scored 15 times in Tottenham’s past 15 league matches, when he leads the Hotspur into action against Fulham FC in a Saturday clash at Wembley Stadium as heavy -400 favorites.

The English star enjoys close company on the Premier League top goalscorer odds, with reigning scoring champion Mohamed Salah trailing at +350, ahead of Sergio Aguero at +600, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at +650.

Salah has emerged as a true international superstar over the past year, storming to the top of the Premier League stats with a league-leading 32 goals, and is one of the primary reasons why his club, Liverpool FC, currently trails only Manchester City as a +350 bet on the Premier League championship odds.

While the spotlight followed Salah to the World Cup, where he led his native Egypt to their first tournament appearance since 1990, a shoulder injury suffered in Liverpool’s 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League hampered his play at the tournament.

The 26-year-old has also found himself embroiled in unwanted controversy after reportedly getting cornered into an uncomfortable political appearance during pre-World Cup training with the Pharaohs in Chechnya, leaving him reconsidering his future role with the national squad. Salah was also recently referred to English police after being photographed speaking on a phone in his car while being harassed for autographs.

However, Salah didn’t disappoint in the Reds’ first scheduled league outing, opening the scoring in a 4-0 rout of West Ham United, and has now buried 20 goals in 20 matches with Liverpool on their home pitch at Anfield.

Aguero Seeking Another Strong Man City Season

Aguero emerged as one of the bright spots of Argentina’s abbreviated run at the World Cup, scoring twice in four appearances, and returns to Manchester City looking to record a fifth straight 20-goal campaign. The 30-year-old veteran buried 21 goals in just 25 appearances with the Premier League champion Citizens last season, and anchors a City offense that scored a record 106 goals last season.

Aubameyang will be looking to regain the form that enabled him to score 31 goals in 32 games with Borussia Dortmund of the Bundesliga in 2016-2017. The 29-year-old scored 23 goals in 29 games, split between Dortmund and Arsenal FC last season, and will play a critical role in the Gunners’ efforts to pay out on +185 odds to finish among the Top Four on the Premier League table this season.
