Fitzpatrick, Mahomes Top NFL Week 4 Props

Bet on NFL Week 4 Props at Bovada Sportsbook

Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will be poised to throw for over 400 yards in a record-setting fourth straight game when he leads the Tampa Bay Buccaneers into the Windy City to face the Chicago Bears on Sunday as 3-point underdogs on the NFL Week 4 odds.

Fitzpatrick is reportedly looking likely to get the call under center for the Buccaneers despite the availability of Jameis Winston, who is eligible to return to action after serving a three-game suspension to open the season. Fitzpatrick has been key to Tampa Bay’s early success while becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for over 400 yards in three straight outings.

Despite the likelihood of seeing action in Sunday afternoon’s matchup at Soldier Field, the 35-year-old veteran is favored to see his prolific streak come to an end, with -260 odds of topping the 400-yard mark in UNDER 3.5 games on the NFL Week 4 prop bets.

While Fitzpatrick has been racking up record-setting yardage, Kansas City pivot Patrick Mahomes has been connecting in the end zone at a record pace. The second-year QB has thrown 13 scoring passes over his first three outings as the Chiefs starter, and has yet to throw an interception this season. He enters Kansas City’s Monday matchup with the Denver Broncos as a -145 bet to throw an interception on the NFL Week 4 props.

The former Texas Tech star tossed 25 total picks over his final two seasons at the helm of the Red Raiders offense. In addition, the Broncos picked off Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson twice in a 27-24 win over the Seahawks in Week 1, but have failed to force a turnover in their past two outings. That has fueled +105 odds of Mahomes not tossing an interception when the Chiefs visit the Mile High City as 5-point chalk.

Matthews Underdog on NFL Week 4 Prop Bets

Elsewhere on the NFL betting props, Green Bay linebacker Clay Matthews will try to avoid running afoul of the NFL’s roughing the passer rule for a fourth straight week when the Packers play host to Buffalo as 9.5-point favorites.

Matthews has been penalized under the new roughing the passer rule in all three of his outings this season, but sits as a heavy -650 favorite to avoid violating the controversial penalty in the team’s home date with the Bills.

The new rule fell under intense scrutiny by fans and media alike after Matthews was penalized on a pair of plays that were widely viewed as legal tackles, including a fourth-quarter infraction that may have cost the Packers a chance to win in their 29-29 tie with the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2.

Matthews is not the only defensive player getting called under the new role. Roughing the passer penalties have been levied an average of 11 times per week this season, well ahead of last season’s average of 6.7 calls per week, including 12 penalty calls in Week 3. However, the odds favor a drop in the number of calls in Week 4, with a bet on UNDER 12 roughing the passer penalties paying out on -175 odds.
