Elliott Favorite on NFL Rushing Yards Odds

2018 NFL Rushing Yards at Bovada Sportsbook

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott ran away with the NFL rushing yards title back in 2016, but ended up back in tenth place on that ranking last season after getting held to just 10 games because of a suspension. Elliott will be looking to reclaim that title in 2018 as the betting favorite on the NFL rushing yards odds.

Elliott is the +285 favorite on the odds to lead the NFL in rushing yards this season, after running for 983 yards in 10 games last year – sitting out six games in the middle of the season to finally serve his suspension for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. At 98.3 yards per game, Elliott led the NFL in that statistic in 2017, and he racked up a league-high 1,631 yards back in the 2016 season.

Following Elliott on the NFL rushing yards prop for 2018 is the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Le’Veon Bell, who sits at a line of +550. Bell, again unhappy with his contract situation in Pittsburgh, finished third in the league with 1,291 yards last season, after finishing fifth with 1,268 yards back in the 2016 campaign.

Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams is then third at +600 on the NFL most rushing yards prop bet. Gurley finished just short of the NFL rushing title last season, ending up with 1,305 yards in 15 games, and sitting second behind Elliott at 87.0 yards per game. Kareem Hunt of the Kansas City Chiefs won the 2017 rushing title with 1,327 yards, but is seventh at +950 odds to repeat that feat in 2018.

Next Group on the NFL Rushing Yards Prop

Following Gurley on the odds to lead the NFL in rushing yards this season are the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Leonard Fournette at +850, and both the Arizona Cardinals’ David Johnson and the Minnesota Vikings’ Dalvin Cook at +900. Fournette finished eighth in rushing yards last season with 1,040, while both Johnson (one game) and Cook (four games) saw their seasons get cut drastically short by injuries and will be looking for a rebound.

New York Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley then follows at +1000 on the prop wager, with the Los Angeles Chargers’ Melvin Gordon and the Chicago Bears’ Jordan Howard both at +2500, and the Atlanta Falcons’ Devonta Freeman at +2800. Howard finished second behind Elliott in 2016 with 1,313 rushing yards, and was sixth with 1,122 yards last season.

Longer shots on the list include the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jay Ajayi, the Baltimore Ravens’ Alex Collins, and the Tennessee Titans’ Derrick Henry all at +4000, with the Washington Redskins’ Derrius Guice and the New Orleans Saints’ Alvin Kamara at +4500, the Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Mixon at +5000, and the Buffalo Bills’ LeSean McCoy at +6000.

Jerick Mckinnon of the San Francisco 49ers then sits at +6600 to lead the NFL in rushing yards in the season ahead.
