Committee Bowl Game Betting Odds Roundup - Bovada Sportsbook

The Ohio State Buckeyes will be looking to close out their 2017 season with a fifth straight outright victory when they take on the USC Trojans in this year’s Cotton Bowl as 7-point favorites on the College Football betting lines.

OSU improved its straight-up record to 11-2 with a 27-21 win over Wisconsin in the Big Ten championship game, but has covered in just two of six outings going into the matchup at  AT&T Stadium on December 29.

The Buckeyes’ recent slide on the betting lines leaves them with a 6-7 record against the spread. The team is also winless ATS in its past three bowl game appearances when favored by six or more points.

Winners of five straight SU, including a 31-28 victory over Stanford as 3.5-point favorites in this year’s Pac-12 championship game, the Trojans are a shaky 4-9 ATS this season, and are 1-8 SU and ATS in their past nine as betting underdogs. However, USC has picked up the win in two straight meetings with OSU, holding the Buckeyes to just 18 total points.

Selection Committee bowl game action continues the following day on December 30, as Penn State takes on Washington as 3-point chalk at the Fiesta Bowl, while the Badgers battle Miami as 7-point favorites in the Orange Bowl.

The Nittany Lions have produced uneven results since seeing a 7-0 SU start halted with a 39-38 loss to the Buckeyes as 7-point road underdogs. PSU followed up with a 27-24 loss at Michigan State as 10-point favorites to fall out of CFP contention, and has covered just once in its past four games.

Washington is winless SU in two contests away from Husky Stadium, and is just 3-3 ATS in six overall, but has covered as an underdog in four of six bowl games.

Wisconsin on a Roll During Bowl Season

The Badgers’ CFP aspirations ended with their loss to OSU, but they remain a dominant force during bowl season, going unbeaten SU and ATS in their past three, and are 4-1 SU in meetings with ACC opponents including a 20-14 win over the Hurricanes as 3.5-point underdogs at the 2009 Champs Sports Bowl.

And on New Year’s Day, the surprising Central Florida Knights look to cap an undefeated season with a win as they battle the Auburn Tigers as 10-point underdogs on the Peach Bowl odds. The 12-0 Knights led the nation this season with 49.4 points per game, but face an Auburn squad that has held opponents to 14 or fewer points on seven occasions this year.
