Celtics Favorites on NBA Eastern Conference Odds

Bet on NBA Eastern Conference Odds at Bovada

The Boston Celtics have endured a difficult preseason, falling to defeat in three of four outings capped by Saturday’s 113-102 loss in Cleveland. However, the team’s early October struggles have failed to diminish their position on the NBA futures, where they continue to lead the way as -130 favorites on the NBA Eastern Conference odds.

Boston returns to action amid high expectations after coming within one win of a berth in the NBA Finals last spring. The Celtics went 55-27 last season, good for fourth overall in the NBA despite the lengthy absences of forward Gordon Hayward and point guard Kyrie Irving.

But with both stars on pace to return to action in time for next Tuesday’s opening night¬† matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers at TD Garden, the Celtics are pegged as a strong -165 bet on the NBA season props to win OVER 58.5 games during the upcoming campaign.

While the Celtics have emerged as clear favorites on the odds to win the Eastern Conference, they can expect stiff competition from the Sixers, who sit second to Boston at +375, just ahead of the Toronto Raptors, who round out the front of the pack with +400 odds.

The 76ers enjoyed a return to respectability last season, marching to a 52-30 record and their first trip to the postseason following five dismal seasons, including three campaigns with fewer than 20 wins. Led by the dynamic duo of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, who sit at +1500 and +2500 respectively on the NBA MVP odds, Philadelphia is perched as a massive -3000 favorite to return to postseason action.

Raptors Shook Up Their Roster in the Offseason

Meanwhile, the Kawhi Leonard era will officially kick off in Toronto next Wednesday, when the Raptors open their regular-season schedule against the Cavaliers as 10.5-point favorites.

The Raptors shook things up during the offseason after yet another disappointing playoff performance. The team parted ways with coach Dwane Casey, and pulled the trigger on a blockbuster deal with San Antonio that sent DeMar DeRozan to the Spurs in exchange for the enigmatic Leonard.

Despite meekly bowing out of the playoffs with a second-round loss to Cleveland for a second straight year, the Raptors look to build on a record-setting campaign that saw them finish atop the East with a franchise-record 59 wins. Toronto also returns to action as a +1400 wager on the NBA Championship odds.

Further down the odds to win the NBA Eastern Conference, the Milwaukee Bucks sit at +2000, ahead of the Washington Wizards at +2200, while the Indiana Pacers lag at +2600.

The Bucks’ 44 victories marked their highest win total since 2009/10. However, Milwaukee continued to struggle in playoff action, falling to Boston in seven games in their first-round matchup, and have not recorded a playoff series victory since reaching the Eastern Conference Finals in 2001.

The Wizards will get a lift from the return of point guard John Wall, who was plagued by injuries last season, but returns to the court as a +150 favorite to lead the league in assists. The Pacers sit as a -130 bet to equal or exceed last season’s 48-win total.
