Aguero Leads EPL Top Goalscorer Odds

Sergio Aguero sits as top betting favorite in EPL top goalscorer odds - Bovada Sportsbook

Scoring a pair of goals to lead Manchester City to its first win in the club’s past four Premier League contests, Sergio Aguero is now a +165 favorite to emerge as the league’s leading goalscorer this season.

The Argentine striker’s two markers sealed the club’s 4-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

That gives Aguero seven goals in seven Premier League appearances this season, to go along with six goals in Champions League competition, which continues with Tuesday afternoon’s Manchester City vs. Barcelona matchup at Etihad Stadium.

Aguero’s hot start has powered the Citizens to a three-way tie atop the EPL table, alongside Arsenal and Liverpool, and continues his torrid pace from last season when he finished second in Premier League scoring with 24 goals in 30 appearances.

While Aguero sits atop the Premier League goalscorer odds, he has yet to seize the lead in the EPL goalscorer race, currently held by Diego Costa. The Chelsea forward has found the back of the net eight times in 10 appearances to date.

That marks a dramatic improvement over last season, when he scored just 12 goals in 28 appearances, and currently makes him Aguero’s closest competition in Premier league goalscorer betting at +350 odds.

Everton’s Romelu Lukaku rounds out the front of the pack on the EPL goalscorer odds at +800. The 23-year-old Belgian star has blossomed this season, potting seven goals in nine outings to date, leading the Toffees to an impressive 5-3-2 start, good for fifth place on the EPL table.

Manchester United veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic is currently enduring his longest scoring drought in almost a decade, failing to find the back of the net in his past six Premier League games, but remains near the top of the goalscorer odds at +1200.

Conversely, Chelsea forward Alexis Sanchez is on pace to have the best Premier League season of his career after potting six goals in his first 10 appearances, earning him +1400 odds.

Gunners forward Theo Walcott leads the middle of the pack at +3300, ahead of a group of seven shooters knotted at +4000, including a pair of Liverpool Reds, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, Southampton’s Charlie Austin, Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke, Sunderland’s Jermaine Defoe, and the Pensioners’ Eden Hazard.
