Adrian Peterson NFL Prop Bets Roundup

Adrian Peterson NFL Prop Bets at Bovada

Adrian Peterson will have a lot to prove when he hits the gridiron this season with his latest team, the Washington Redskins. The former superstar running back hopes to revive his career this season with the Redskins, who were forced to fill a massive hole in their backfield after rookie running back Derrius Guice saw his season ended by a serious ACL injury.

Peterson is coming off a turbulent 2017 NFL campaign that started in uncertainty after the Minnesota Vikings chose not to exercise an $18 million contract option, and parted ways with the seven-time Pro Bowl rusher.

Cast adrift as a free agent for the first time in his professional career, Peterson endured a pair of short stints with the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals last season, racking up 529 rushing yards. With a new contract in hand, the 33-year-old will be aiming to top that number, and sports -120 odds of scampering for OVER 530.5 yards on the Adrian Peterson NFL season props.

Plagued by injuries and legal woes, Peterson has seen his offensive numbers steadily diminish in recent years. After gaining 2,097 rushing yards and earning NFL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2012, Peterson saw his production dip sharply to 1,266 yards the following season. The former Oklahoma Sooners star was faced with allegations of child abuse early in the 2014 season, which ultimately led to a suspension that limited him to just one game.

Peterson rebounded the following year, appearing in all 16 regular season games with the Vikings. However, a dramatic drop in production and a devastating knee injury signaled the beginning of the end in Minnesota. Peterson tallied just 72 yards in three appearance in his final season with the Vikings, while averaging a career-low 1.9 yards per carry.

OVER/UNDER Yards Per Carry on the Season?

Things didn’t get much better for Peterson while being used sparingly during a four-game stint with the Saints at the outset of last season. After getting cut by New Orleans, Peterson caught on with the Cardinals, and compiled a respectable 448 rushing yards while averaging 3.5 yards per carry. He currently sports -120 odds of averaging OVER 3.5 yards per carry on the 2018 Adrian Peterson NFL prop bets.

While the arrival of Peterson provides them with a short-term solution, the loss of Guice deals a crushing blow to a Redskins squad that was already expected to struggle this season.

Washington is coming off a dismal 7-9 campaign in 2017, and subsequently parted ways with veteran passer Kirk Cousins, forcing them to pull the trigger on a deal to acquire quarterback Alex Smith. The Redskins also bid farewell to wide receivers Terrelle Pryor and Ryan Grant, and center Spencer Long.

The Redskins had high hopes for Guice, whom they selected with the 59th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Guice ran for over 1,250 yards in each of his final two seasons with the LSU Tigers, and had emerged as a +1500 bet to claim NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.

However, with Guice now sidelined, the Redskins have tumbled from +375 to +750 on the odds to make the NFL playoffs, and are also pegged as +750 longshots to win the NFC East.
