OVER Favored on ACC Bowl Victories Prop - Bovada Sportsbook

The ACC enjoys the greatest representation among college football conferences in bowl games this season, with 10 teams vying for postseason glory, and has emerged as a strong -130 bet to win OVER 5.5 of those contests on the betting lines.

Leading the way for the ACC is the top-ranked Clemson Tigers, who kick off their national championship defense on New Year’s Day as 2.5-point underdogs in a Sugar Bowl matchup with No. 4 Alabama.

The Tigers earned top spot on the College Football Playoff rankings with a 12-1 straight up record, and are pegged as betting underdogs for the first time since topping the Crimson Tide 35-31 as 6.5-point underdogs in last year’s national championship game.

Three other ACC squads are listed on the national rankings entering bowl season – No. 10 Miami, No. 22 Virginia Tech, and No. 24 North Carolina State.

The Hurricanes looked to be bound for a CFP berth after opening the season on a 10-0 SU run. But Miami rides a two-game losing streak into its Orange Bowl clash with No. 6 Wisconsin as a 7-point underdog, and is a meagre 1-6 SU in its last seven bowl game appearances.

The Hokies also endured an uneven end to the regular season, going 2-2 SU in their final four outings, and are pegged as 4.5-point underdogs as they take on No. 19 Oklahoma State in the Camping World Bowl, while the Wolfpack aim for consecutive wins for the first time since the middle of October as they battle Arizona State as 6.5-point chalk on the Sun Bowl odds.

Alabama Among Nine SEC Teams on Slate

Pegged as +190 favorites to claim their second national championship in three years, the Crimson Tide are one of nine SEC squads with upcoming bowl game dates. But expectations remain tempered in the Southeast, with the odds of the conference amassing UNDER 4.5 victories pegged at a short -150.

Alabama will be joined in the CFP by the conference rival Georgia Bulldogs, who finished the season at No. 2 on the national rankings, and look toward their Rose Bowl date with No. 3 Oklahoma as narrow 1.5-point chalk. The Bulldogs are joined by No. 7 Auburn, which is set as 10-point chalk in its Peach Bowl clash with undefeated Central Florida, but has fallen to defeat in three of its last four bowl game appearances.

Both the Big Ten and the Big 12 are well represented, with eight teams each making bowl game appearances. The Big Ten is favored to post wins in OVER 4.5 contests with strong -175 odds, while the Big 12 is a -140 bet to win OVER 3.5 bowl games this season.
