After leading the way at this year’s Golden Globe Awards, taking four awards including Best Motion Picture – Drama, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” has emerged as a strong -115 favorite to be named Best Picture on the 2018 Academy Award odds.

“Three Billboards” has garnered seven nominations at the 90th Academy Awards, which takes place on Sunday evening at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. In addition to leading a field of nine nominees for Best Picture, Three Billboards’ cast is up for three awards.

Frances McDormand’s portrayal of a grieving mother seeking justice for her murdered teenager daughter has positioned her to claim her second career Oscar, as a heavy -2500 favorite on the Academy Award props to be named Best Actress.

“The Shape of Water” closely trails Three Billboards on the Best Picture odds at +140, while “Get Out” rounds out the top of the odds at +550.

Directed by Guillermo del Toro, The Shape of Water leads all films at this year’s competition with a hefty 13 nominations. Del Toro is pegged as a -1000 bet to take home the Oscar for Best Director, and Sally Hawkins sits at +1400 on the Best Actress odds, while Richard Jenkins sports intriguing +1600 odds to claim Best Supporting Actor honors after receiving Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for his performance.

Get Out emerged as one of the biggest Hollywood success stories of 2017 after grossing over $250 million worldwide. The film marked the directorial debut of Jordan Peele, who is better known for his comedic work on the television show “Key & Peele”. The 39-year-old American trails del Toro as a +3300 wager to win Best Director, however Peele’s writing has lifted Get Out to an even-money favorite to win Best Original Screenplay honors on the 90th Academy Awards odds.

 

Lady Bird, Dunkirk Trail on Academy Award Props

Further down the Best Picture odds, “Lady Bird” leads the middle of the pack at +1400, ahead of “Dunkirk” at +3300, and “Call Me by Your Name” at +6600, while “The Post”, “Darkest Hour”, and “Phantom Thread” sit knotted at +10000.

Despite trailing on the Academy Award prop bets to win Best Picture, Darkest Hour has produced the favorite to win Best Actor, with the versatile Gary Oldman perched as a strong -2500 wager to win his first career Oscar.

Sam Rockwell has been the darling of this year’s Awards Season, raising the hardware at the Golden Globes, the Hollywood Film Awards, and the British Academy Film Awards for his portrayal of a racist, alcoholic police officer in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. That success has contributed to Rockwell’s steady rise on the Academy Award props, where he is perched as a heavy -800 favorite to be named Best Supporting Actor.

Better known for her award-winning role as Bonnie Plunkett on the hit sitcom “Mom”, Allison Janney sits as the -600 favorite to win Best Supporting Actress after wowing critics with her performance in “I, Tonya”.

“Blade Runner 2049” sits as a -800 favorite to win Best Cinematography, and “Faces Places” leads the way at -300 on the Best Documentary feature odds, while “Coco” is a massive -5000 favorite to be named Best Animated Feature.
