Trumps Tops 2020 Presidential Election Odds

Donald Trump’s first year in the White House has been rocked by salacious scandal, high-profile resignations, and accusations of wrongdoing, but as the first anniversary of his inauguration approaches, Trump remains a solid +300 bet to get re-elected on the 2020 Presidential Election odds.

Trump defied the pollsters and pundits with a stunning election victory over Hillary Clinton in November 2016. The Republican Party candidate was pegged as a +375 longshot as American voters went to the polls on November 8, but stunned the world by carrying 30 states and winning 304 Electoral College votes.

Armed with lofty plans to Make America Great Again, Trump wasted no time in appointing Neil Gorsuch to the US Supreme Court, and closed out 2017 with an historic tax cut. However, the 71-year-old has also struggled to govern at times. Divisions within the Republican Party have prevented Trump from effectively leveraging GOP majorities in Congress, and a continued investigation into the role of Russian interference in his election win has dominated news coverage in Washington.

The New Year has brought additional scandal to the White House. A newly released tell-all book includes allegations of treasonous behavior by members of the Trump campaign team, and the president has also been buffeted by accusations of racism following reported use of vulgar language during a recent closed-door meeting.

Among those hammering the president is US Senator Elizabeth Warren, who sits as Trump’s closest rival on the 2020 Presidential Election lines with +800 odds. First elected to the US Senate by Massachusetts voters in 2012, Warren has been a long-time and outspoken Trump critic. However, the 68-year-old Democrat has also been plagued by questions surrounding the veracity of her claims to Native American roots, leading Trump to tar her with the unflattering nickname “Pocahontas”.

Oprah Also on 2020 Presidential Election Lines

A pair of familiar names round out the top of the odds on the 2020 Presidential Election lines, with Oprah Winfrey joining Bernie Sanders at +1000.

A beloved media personality who commands a formidable Twitter following of over 41 million, Oprah delivered an emotional, politically-tinged speech at the Golden Globe Awards earlier this month, spawning speculation that she would take a run at the White House in 2020. Oprah’s odds of a successful 2020 election have skyrocketed since being pegged at +6600 in March 2017, and she is pegged as a +130 wager to enter the 2020 presidential election fray.

Sanders presented a formidable challenge for the Democratic Party nomination in 2016 before stepping aside in favor of Clinton, and continues to serve as US Senator for Vermont, but will be 79 years old on Election Day 2020.

Other prominent potential presidential election candidates on the 2020 Presidential Election odds include Vice President Mike Pence, who sits at +1200, well ahead of former Vice President Joe Biden at +1800.

Clinton sits deadlocked with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at a long +3300, while US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley and former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg join three other candidates at +5000.

The bottom of the odds provide some intriguing alternatives, with presidential daughters Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton joining Republican congressman Trey Gowdy at +15000, while four-time Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady is pegged as a +20000 longshot.
