Wild Card Round Betting Preview

Wild Card Round Betting Preview - Bovada Sportsbook

The New Orleans Saints took care of business in both of their games against the rival Carolina Panthers during the regular season. Drew Brees and the Saints will get a chance to beat the Panthers for a third time on Sunday as clear favorites on the Wild Card betting lines.

New Orleans is set as a 7-point home favorite on the NFL playoffs odds for Sunday’s matchup, with a -320 price on the moneyline and an OVER/UNDER at 48.5 for the contest.

The Saints lost their first two games of the season but finally grabbed a win their third time out by beating the Panthers 34-13 as a 5.5-point road underdog. New Orleans then squared off with Carolina again on December 3 at the Superdome, winning that game by a score of 31-21  as a 5.5-point favorite. The Saints are on a 7-2-1 against the spread run against the Panthers.

Carolina at New Orleans is the later game on Sunday. The early game comes from the AFC, with the Jacksonville Jaguars hosting the Buffalo Bills as 8-point favorites on the Wild Card Round odds. The Jaguars are also heavy -450 favorites on the moneyline for the matchup.

Jacksonville and Buffalo didn’t meet during the regular season. The two teams last squared off in November 2016, with the Bills winning 28-21 but failing to cover as 8.5-point home favorites on the day. The OVER is 7-3 in the last 10 games between the Jaguars and Bills dating back to 2004; the OVER/UNDER for their game on Sunday is set low at 39.5 points.

Chiefs Favored on Wild Card Betting Lines

The Wild Card betting matchups get underway on Saturday, with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Tennessee Titans as 9-point favorites in the early game. After stumbling through the middle part of the season the Chiefs turned it around in December, winning and covering the spread in each of their last four games. Kansas City is at -500 on Saturday’s moneyline.

Kansas City lost to Tennessee 19-17 when the two teams last met in December 2016, with the Chiefs having been set as 6-point home favorites in that UNDER result on the totals. The Chiefs have only covered the spread four times in their last 10 games against the Titans dating all the way back to 1995. Tennessee covered the spread in five of its last six games.

And the Los Angeles Rams are the smallest favorite on the Wild Card betting lines, getting set as 6-point chalk at home against the Atlanta Falcons for Saturday’s late game with a -300 price on the moneyline. The Rams and Falcons also haven’t met since last season, when Atlanta thumped Los Angeles 42-14 as 5-point road favorites in December en route to a Super Bowl appearance. The OVER is 7-3 in the last 10 games between the two NFC teams.

The OVER is also 5-0 in the high-scoring Rams’ last five games, although they’re just 2-3 ATS over that span.  The Falcons, on the other hand, have turned in five straight UNDER results.
