Wild Card Betting Props Roundup - Bovada Sportsbook

Wild Card teams face an uphill battle in the NFL playoffs, and the odds of a wild card team winning Super Bowl LII next month are pegged at +900 entering the postseason.

The AFC features a pair of wild card teams returning to postseason action after lengthy playoff droughts. The Buffalo Bills search for their first playoff win since 1995 as they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars as 9-point underdogs in their first January contest in 18 years, and are joined on the Super Bowl odds as +10000 longshots by the Tennessee Titans, who end a decade-long playoff drought with Saturday’s visit to Kansas City as 9-point underdogs.

While only six wild card teams have marched to a Super Bowl victory since 1970, both of this season’s NFC entries enjoy recent big game experience, fueling intriguing +350 odds on the NFL playoffs props of a wild card squad claiming a berth in this year’s big game.

Winners of 11 games this season, the Carolina Panthers last reached the Super Bowl two years ago, dropping a 24-10 decision to the Denver Broncos as 4.5-point favorites, and face a tough test when they visit the New Orleans Saints on Sunday as 7-point underdogs.

The Atlanta Falcons have a lot to prove after their historic meltdown in last year’s 34-28 Super Bowl loss to New England as 3-point underdogs. The 10-6 Falcons needed a 22-10 win over Carolina as 5-point home chalk in Week 17 to earn a return trip to the postseason as the NFC’s No. 6 seed, but are pegged as 6-point road underdogs in their matchup with the Los Angeles Rams and join the Panthers at a lengthy +2500 on the Super Bowl odds.

Victories, Offense on Wild Card Props

Although this season’s Wild Card squads are being pegged as long Super Bowl bets, the odds of at least one of them emerging victorious this weekend are pegged at +120 on the wild card betting props. The odds of all four wild card teams seeing their season’s end sit at a short +170 on the wild card props, while four upsets would pay out on long +15000 odds.

Wild Card Weekend will also feature four of the top six scoring teams in the NFL, led by the Rams, who racked up a league-best 29.9 points per game. Los Angeles cracked the 35-point mark on six occasions this season, including twice in the past four weeks. In addition, the Saints, Chiefs, and Jaguars combined to score 35 or more points on six occasions, lifting the odds of at least one team scoring OVER 35.5 points to a short -140 on the prop bets.

This weekend’s wide point spreads also raise the spectre of at least one team romping to victory. The highest margin of victory on Wild Card Weekend prop is pegged at 20.5 points, with -120 odds attached to both the OVER and the UNDER.

It has been six years since the Denver Broncos eked out a 29-23 win over the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers in the last wild card contest settled in overtime. Not surprisingly, that trend is expected to continue, with -900 odds favoring a finish in 60 minutes for each of this weekend’s four matchups.
