Warriors Atop 2018 NBA Championship Odds

Warriors Atop 2018 NBA Championship Odds - Bovada Sportsbook

The Golden State Warriors are listed as the clear betting favorites on the odds to win the 2018 NBA championship heading into the start of the season this week, with only LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers within shouting distance of them on those early betting futures.

The Warriors are the -160 betting favorites on the odds to win the 2018 NBA championship. The Cavaliers, who lost to Golden State in last year’s NBA Finals, are second at +450 odds.

Golden State’s championship roster from last season remains largely intact for this year, with Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant leading the way and Klay Thompson and Draymond Green providing stellar support. The Warriors swept their first three series in last year’s playoffs, then lost just once against the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals en route to the championship victory.

And Golden State also led the league in the regular season last year with 67 victories. For the season ahead the Warriors’ OVER/UNDER is set at 67.5 wins, with the OVER the slight favorite at -125. Cleveland had a relatively modest 51 wins last year, and their OVER/UNDER for this season is at 53.5 with the OVER the -140 favorite. The Cavaliers have James back this season but swapped out Kyrie Irving for Isaiah Thomas in a trade with the Boston Celtics.

And Boston is third at +800 on the 2018 NBA championship odds, and out for revenge after falling in five games to the Cavaliers in last year’s Eastern Conference Finals. The Celtics actually had the best record in the Eastern Conference last season at 53-29, but with Irving in tow their OVER/UNDER for this season is pegged at 55.5 wins with the UNDER -150 chalk.

Spurs, Thunder Round out Top Five Title Odds

The San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder then round out the top five teams on the 2018 NBA championship odds at +1200, with the Thunder having beefed up their roster this offseason with the additions of Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. That’s bumped them ahead of the Houston Rockets on those title futures, with James Harden and company set at +1600 heading into the season. The Minnesota Timberwolves are next at +2800 title odds.

The futures fall off quickly from there, with the Washington Wizards at +5000, the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks at +6600, the Toronto Raptors at +7500, the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat at +10000, and everyone else at +12500 or higher. The Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, and Orlando Magic are at the bottom of the odds at +100000.
