Ramblers Again Underdogs on Final Four Betting Odds

Ramblers Again Underdogs on Final Four Betting Odds - Bovada Sportsbook

The Loyola-Chicago Ramblers can become the first No.11-seeded squad to reach college basketball’s national championship game with a win on Saturday when they battle the No.3 Michigan Wolverines as 5.5-point underdogs on the March Madness Final Four odds.

Loyola-Chicago has captured the imagination of college basketball fans with a thrilling Cinderella run at this year’s NCAA Tournament, and ride a 14-game straight-up win streak into Saturday evening’s matchup at the Alamodome.

The Ramblers eked out narrow victories on the opening weekend of March Madness, including a buzzer-beating 63-62 win over No.3 Tennessee as 5-point underdogs, and showed increased confidence in last Sunday’s 78-62 rout of Kansas State as 1.5-point underdogs, which ended an 8-0 run for the UNDER in totals betting.

Despite their steady play, though, the Ramblers sit at the bottom of the 2018 March Madness odds, as +850 longshots to win the championship.

The Wolverines will take a 13-game SU win streak into their first Final Four appearance since 2013, but have struggled to pay out at the sportsbooks at this year’s NCAA Tournament, covering in just two of four outings, including last Sunday’s 58-54 win over No.9 Florida State as 4.5-point chalk.

Michigan has made four previous appearances in the Final Four since the NCAA Tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985, but have emerged as national champions just once in school history, back in 1989.

The squad finished as runners-up in 1992, 1993, and 2013, and failed to record a Final Four victory by more than five points in each of those editions of the tournament. However, the Wolverines’ checkered record in previous drives to the national championship has not dimmed their position on the March Madness futures, where they trail only the top-ranked Villanova Wildcats as a +250 bet.

Villanova Favored on March Madness Final Four Odds

Later on Sunday night, the Wildcats continue their bid for a second national championship victory in three years as they take on the Kansas Jayhawks as 5-point favorites on the Final Four betting odds.

After finishing second to the Xavier Musketeers in the Big East conference standings this season, the Wildcats entered the tournament alongside Virginia as +600 co-favorites and have not disappointed. Villanova romped to victory in each of its four March Madness contests, and has now claimed victory by double-digit margins in eight straight outings.

Currently perched as heavy -110 national championship betting favorites, the Wildcats have also dominated in postseason action when favored by five or more points. Villanova has picked up the outright win in nine straight, going 18-2 SU in its past 20, and covering in four straight, but dropped a stunning 65-62 decision to eighth-seeded Wisconsin as 5.5-point chalk in the Round of 32 a year ago.

The Jayhawks advanced to the Final Four for the first since 2012, and make their ninth appearance since 1985. Kansas rides a three-game SU win streak in Final Four matchups, including outright victories as betting underdogs in their past two appearances, but is just 1-2 SU in its past three trips to the national championship game, and trail at +350 on the college basketball futures odds.
