Bet on Who Will Win the 2018 Heisman Trophy Online at Bovada

A pair of Big Ten rushers coming off big freshman campaigns sit as early favorites on the odds to win the 2018 Heisman trophy, with Ohio State’s JK Dobbins joining Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor at +600.

Dobbins climbed quickly on the 2018 Heisman odds after opening at +1200. That will come as no surprise to Buckeyes fans, who watched Dobbins have an immediate impact in his debut with the squad.

The product of La Grange, Texas amassed 1,538 total yards and eight touchdowns in 2017, capped by an impressive 174-yard performance that garnered him MVP honors in Ohio State’s 27-21 Big Ten Championship Game victory over the Badgers as a 3.5-point favorite.

The 19-year-old eclipsed 100 rushing yards on six occasions including a school-record-setting 181 yards during his collegiate debut in OSU’s 49-21 Week 1 victory over Indiana as a 20.5-point road chalk and was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on two occasions.

Taylor is also coming off a spectacular 2017 college football campaign, during which he set an FBS record for most rushing yards by a freshman with 1,977 and claimed Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors.

The Salem, New Jersey native emerged as a key offensive weapon for the 13-1 Badgers, running for 13 major scores, and is expected to take on even more responsibility in 2018 for a Wisconsin squad that will be looking to exceed expectations as a +2500 bet on the national championship odds.

Tagovailoa, Love Follow on Odds to Win the 2018 Heisman Trophy

Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and Stanford running back Bryce Love round out the top of the 2018 Heisman Trophy prop odds, deadlocked at +700, well ahead of Georgia pivot Jake Fromm at +1200.

Tagovailoa saw limited action in 2017 while backing up Jalen Hurts, racking up 470 passing yards and eight touchdowns during the regular season. But the 19-year-old Hawaiian rose to the occasion after taking over under center in place of Hurts in last month’s National Championship Game, rallying the Crimson Tide to a 26-23 comeback victory over the Bulldogs and earning Offensive MVP honors.

The loss to Alabama was a hard pill to swallow for Fromm, who tossed for 2,615 yards and was named 2017 SEC Freshman of the Year while leading the 13-2 Bulldogs to their first SEC championship since 2005.

A Heisman trophy finalist during an impressive junior season in 2017, Love opened as the favorite on the 2018 Heisman odds before slipping behind Dobbins and Taylor. The 20-year-old took home the Doak Walker Award as the top collegiate running back in the nation, racking up 2,118 yards and 19 touchdowns to lift the Cardinal to their fifth Pac-12 North Division title in seven years.

Further down the Heisman odds, Arizona pivot Khalil Tate is pegged as a +1400 bet, followed by Auburn passer Jarrett Stidham and West Virginia quarterback Will Grier, who both sit at +1600. The list of quarterback candidates continues with Oregon’s Justin Herbert joining Clemson’s Kelly Bryant at +1800, ahead of Trace McSorley of Penn State at +2000.

A six-pack of budding stars then lag at +2500, including passers McKenzie Milton, Jake Browning, Ryan Finley, and Drew Lock, and rushers Cam Akers and Rodney Anderson.
