Nadal Listed as Favorite for French Open - Bovada Sportsbook

Looking for his first major tournament victory since 2014, Rafael Nadal is pegged as the betting favorite on the odds to win the French Open over Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.

Nadal is the -125 favorite on the 2017 French Open odds, having lost in the finals to Roger Federer at the Australian Open to start the season in his most recent major tournament. That was the Spaniard’s first trip past the fourth round of a major tournament since the 2014 French Open, which he won. Nadal has claimed the French Open title nine times since 2005.

This past week Nadal fell in the quarterfinals at the Italian Open in Rome to Dominic Thiem.

Djokovic is then second at +300 on the odds to win the 2017 French Open, and he’s coming off a loss to Alexander Zverev in the finals of the Italian Open this past week. Djokovic lost in the second round at the Australian Open earlier this year after winning that tournament five times since 2011. The Serbian, though, finally broke through with his first career French Open victory last year, dropping the opening set to Andy Murray before winning the next three sets.

Murray is then third at +900 on the 2017 French Open odds, and will be looking for a bounceback after he was upset by Fabio Fognini in his first match as the Italian Open this past week as the top seed in the tournament. Murray’s appearance in the finals at last year’s French Open was his best-ever result at the event; he made the semifinals in 2014 and 2015.

Thiem, Wawrinka, Zverev Follow Favorites

Thiem is then tied with Murray at +900 on the odds to win the French Open, with the Austrian searching for his first major tournament victory. Thiem made the fourth round at the Australian Open this year, and reached the semifinals of last year’s French Open – losing to Djokovic. Thiem’s run at the Italian Open last week was also ended by Djokovic in the semifinal round.

Stan Wawrinka sits at +1000 on the French Open odds, with Zverev at odds of +1400. The Russian topped Djokovic in straight sets in the final of the Italian Open, but has never made it past the third round in his 10 career appearances at a major. Zverev made the third round at the Australian Open this year, and also made the third round at the French Open last year.

Kei Nishikori, Nick Kyrgios, and Juan Martin del Potro are all at +4000 on the French Open odds, with Grigor Dimitrov, David Goffen, and Milos Raonic set at +5000 for the tournament.
