Barcelona Champions League Odds Favorite

Barcelona Champions League Odds Favorite - Brovada Sportsbook

It was a disappointing campaign last year for FC Barcelona, capped by a quarter-final exit from UEFA Champions League competition, but after closing out the season with seven straight victories across all competitions Barca has emerged as the early favorite to claim the 2018 Champions League crown at +450 odds.

The knockout stage of the recently concluded Champions League season proved to be a roller coaster for Barca, who were pummeled 4-0 by Paris Saint-Germain as +135 road chalk in the first leg of their Round of 16 matchup.

Barca responded with a 6-1 win as -185 chalk in the second leg to claim a 6-5 aggregate victory and advance to the quarter-finals, where they were dominated in a 3-0 aggregate loss to Juventus.

The five-time Champions League winners then outscored opponents by a 28-8 margin during a seven-win run, but it was not enough for Barca to repeat as La Liga champions, finishing three points back of archrival Real Madrid.

In addition to winning their first La Liga title since 2012, Los Blancos also successfully defended their UCL title this spring, and closely follow Barcelona on the Champions League futures at +500.

Real went undefeated during its march to a record 12th Champions League title, and the third in four years. A 3-3-0 record in group stage action, which included a 3-3 draw with Legia Warsaw while sporting odds as short as -3000, raised concerns. However, Real dominated during the knockout stage, outscoring opponents by a 20-8 margin in five matches, capped by a 4-1 victory over Juventus in the final as +160 chalk.

Bayern Munich Leads the Rest of the Pack

Five-time defending Bundesliga champion Bayern Munich sits on Real’s heels at +550, well ahead of Juventus and Manchester City, who sport +900 and +1100 odds, respectively.

Bayern’s league championship this season gives them a Bundesliga record 27 titles. However that success has not carried over to the Champions League, where they have failed to reach the final since their last title win in 2013, and meekly bowed out in the quarter-final this year, falling 6-3 on aggregate to Real Madrid.

Juventus is coming off an impressive campaign, winning a sixth straight Serie A title, and went unbeaten in 12 straight Champions League contests before suffering their worst defeat in six years against Real in the final.

City suffered a shocking quarter-final loss to Monaco on away goals in this year’s Champions League, but a subsequent seven-match unbeaten stretch run clinched the Citizens third place on the Premier League table.

Atletico Madrid joins Manchester United and Chelsea at +1400, while PSG rounds out the top of the odds at +1800.
